The Tucan hotel is a charming, picturesque place, the decoration is neat. We spent 3 nights there in the converted bus, very comfortable with good quality bedding, shower, lounge and air conditioning. Shops 2 steps away which is not negligible. Nothing to say about the place itself except that it is probably more pleasant to stay in Bahia Uvita which is really close and much prettier. Very nice and friendly reception staff. What disappointed us: The hotel restaurant closed when we were told it was open when we booked. Of course there are other possibilities in the area but we would have appreciated knowing before our arrival since the hotel could very easily contact us. The non-existent welcome on our arrival, we had partly chosen this establishment because the owners are French-speaking. We hoped that they could give us information. Unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of seeing them although the young receptionist told us that they had been warned and would come and see us. We had booked a day trip to Corcovado through the hotel and no information was given to us about it except that a taxi would pick us up at 6:00 am. The other participants, who had come from other hotels, had been given fairly precise explanations about what to take with them, for example. No instructions on how to clean our accommodation. Seeing that the bed had not been made nor the bins emptied, we asked reception what was going on. Answer "I don't know if it is planned for someone to do it on the bus" So we emptied the bins ourselves ... A place that is therefore much warmer than the welcome reserved for customers. We explained this by messages to the owner who told us that we had arrived at a particular time for personal reasons. I'm willing to believe it, but it's a shame that such a nice place is so impersonal. The quality/price ratio is good despite an average breakfast.
