Great spot on the beach. Perfect for whale watching trips. Some sun beds would be great or renewed hammocks. Nice restaurant and great food

Location is good. Food is great. But the owner of the resort, Shane, lives in Australia so is not local. He’s cordial but extremely right wing and a little forceful with his political views. If you try to discuss politics from a different point of view, he becomes condescending.

A great place to relax an unwind or be active if you choose to be with Diving professionals on site as well as other activity options with kayaks and snorkel equipment readily available. Shane and the team are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food here is great as well. Rooms are spacious and cleaned often.

We had a premiere room and it was very clean and had everything we needed. I liked the little tub outside the door to dip my feet into to remove the sand. The food was exceptional for such a remote location. We took a memorable day trip out on the catamaran. It was the best snorkelling I have ever done. Highly recommend this wonderfully run resort. Staff are great, too.

The owners Helen and Shane were truly awesome. They made us feel part of the family, and nothing was a problem. While dated, the facilies were still in great condition, and far exceeded our Tongan expectations. The rooms were spotless, and the bathroom and showers truly wonderful. Use of the snorkeling equipment and kayaks was free, and available 24/7. The staff were friendly and courteous. Location was the best in the island. We could sit on our porch, metres from the sea and watch both the sunrise and sunset. The sand was beautifully groomed, There was great snorkeling right off the beach. Fantastic value for money. I have stayed in some very posh resorts around the world, but it is the atmosphere that makes a good location great. Helen and Shane really added a significant gloss to an already fantastic resort. We will be back, and I have already passed on their details to other people planning their holidays.

Had the best holiday ever. Shane and Helen were the most gracious and accomadating hosts going above and beyond to make this a birthday i will never forget,the staff super friendly,and the location and accomadation was perfect. Kayaking and Snorkeling off the beach any time of year this is an amazing place to go to.

My fiancé and I had an unforgettable stay at Tongan Beach Resort. The resort's serene and picturesque setting offered the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Our room was immaculate and comfortable, providing all the amenities we needed. The perfect base for whale swimming adventures. Despite an initial hiccup with the airline misplacing our luggage, the resort's staff turned our situation around with their outstanding service. They assisted us in shopping for essential items and personally retrieved our bags from the airport once they arrived. We loved the exceptional hospitality and would wholeheartedly recommend Tongan Beach Resort to anyone seeking a memorable stay in Tonga.

Nice resort, well run by the owners. It has comfortable rooms, private beach, a very useful pier for the trip boats and sea floor is rich of corals. Owners organised boat trips for us to visit nice places for snorkelling and diving. It was not the season for whales watching yet and there were not many tourists. We enjoyed kayaks made available by the resort together with fins and masks. Swimming pool and sunbeds were not available at the time.

An incredible place to stay while on Vavau! Staff was wonderful and place was kept clean the entire stay. Very peaceful place to stay for a calm break from life. Will definitely stay again next time I am in the area
