We stayed for two nights at this lovely pub in the beautiful town of Usk. Very friendly welcome and we were shown to room 3, a double room with ensuite overlooking the pub's beer garden. It had everything we needed and was comfortable and very homely. We had a reservation for the restaurant on our first night which was superb. Great pub food, piping hot and tasty. You order breakfast on the evening before from a tick sheet in your room and I must admit our eyes were bigger than our stomachs as we couldn't finish it. Ordered less the next day and it was spot on. Enjoyed our stay very much. If you want a shiny bling place to stay then this is not it, but if you want somewhere with a bit of character, good food and a warm welcome, then come here.

5 people stayed in 3 separate rooms. First impressions the stair carpet to the rooms was extremely dirty had not been cleaned for some considerable time. The stairs themselves are steep and winding and somewhat dangerous in places having steps right outside the door of the twin. The whole place was cold and in need of a good clean. The central heating did come on but only luke warm. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean and of good quality. The shower rooms were strange with more steps into the shower. The road is busy and therefore very noisy early. The breakfast was dreadful. Ordered items missing, toast was still white had to ask to redo, ingredients were of poor quality, cheap and greasy and Luke warm. For £99 per room, including the twin with single occupancy it was grossly overpriced. Would not return or recommend.

Sunday dinner not very good. Roast potatoes not crisp pork cut to thick veg hard has rock standed very poor cheap meats on menu won't be going again there is more better Sunday dinners in Usk the chef or cook should seat back and look what he is serving.

Saw it advertised as a four star hotel, which it isn't, it's a nice pub with rooms. Host was friendly and helpful, room was nice, breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. Would have no hesitation staying here again

Stayed for one night. Difficult to review the room as it was so hot we struggled to sleep but they had put a fan in the room which helped a little. Area is quiet. There was a nice welcome and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was very nice we also had an evening meal which was excellent. Would certainly revisit if in area.

We stayed in the Airbnb next door over the mayday bank holiday. We went in and had the ribeye for 3 of us and the burger all really really good. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the pepper sauce was bang on... perfect. So we decided to book Sunday lunch for the next day. The owner let us book the same table as we had dogs and we all wanted the slow cooked beef so we pre ordered for the next day. The beef was so tender that as you tried to cut it it just fell apart.....perfect. I hate stuffing but the stuffing ball was the best Ive ever had.. the roast potatoes were perfect in fact this was one of the tastiest Sunday lunches Ive ever had in a pub. 100% recommended by us all......

We had Sunday lunch at the new court this weekend and really enjoyed our meals. We both had the beef which was so mouthwateringly tender, it fell apart on the fork! The stuffing ball was delicious and the roast potatoes were perfectly crisp. Would highly recommend the Sunday lunch at the new court 😊

Visited with friends for my husband’s birthday. We had 3 steak meals and one fish. Everyone really enjoyed their food and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere and warm on what was a freezing day. It’s a little gem of a place.
