Hotel Los Yamanas

From our arrival until our departure the staff were very helpful and accommodating! ( They all spoke great English which helped us ) From booking trips to renting a car everything was a good experience. The hotel itself was very clean and fitting of the Ushuaia experience. Very nice location right on the Beagle canal just on the edge of the City . Highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again .

The location is beautiful, quiet, and just on the edge of town . The staff are great , very helpful and accommodating. Would stay here again forsure .

Property is beautiful with nice view of beagle channel. Breakfast was not so good and we could hear people from other rooms.

We stayed there 4 days, the hotel is quite far from the centre. We already knew that but they do not provide a transfer to the centre, such as other hotels like the Alto Calafate does. it is pretentious but not good. When we arrived after having payed 300.000 pesos, witch are about 1500USD the receptionist tells us that we had to pay 3800 USD!!!!! The administration had left them a handwritten note where it sayed that, totally disrespectful, they never apologized. The breakfast has bad coffee, a fruit salad that probably comes in a can, and very little options. They renewed the front desk but not the rooms wich are old. We hired the excursions from the hotel, that happens to own or be owned by a tourist agency. One of them was terrible, they put you inside an altered pick up, thouse originaly for 8 but these ones sit 8 people, 8 hours knocking the head against the ceiling without being able to see anything!!!! But the worst had yet to come. We were for, but 2 of us did not want the massage we had alredy payed, so the other 2 decided to take their massage as well, they didn´t let us!!!! We has payed for it!!! Unbelievable!! Terrible adminsitration, we had to make like 4 transfers because they kept changing the price and then this. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PRETENTIOUS STILL PROVINICIAL HOTEL.

So we were booked into Los Yamanas for one night prior to our cruise on Crystal Endeavor, Los Yamanas was one of three hotels recommended by Crystal, on January 14 Crystal went into bankruptcy and our cruise was canceled. I notified Los Yamanas the next day. They already would have been aware of this as the Covid testing was supposed to happen at Los Yamanas. Because we opted for arrangements for flights and hotels we had to book direct. The two other hotels Arakur Ushuaia and Fuegino Hotel Pategonico either canceled the reservations outfight without charge or refunded funds without penalties. I contacted Los Yamanas several times without success, I eventually heard from the hotel on Feb 12 telling me they had no choice but to charge full room rate. They also has Had a terse one line response verbatim hence the poor English “I do apologize beacouse the Crystal Cruise ceasing operations. Its not our foult, Claims the refund to the Crystal Company” Everyone with canceled crystal cruises are in contact with Trustee handling and flights / hotels are not recoverable. So be aware if you book at Los Yamanas and you end up not able to travel. You will be charged 100%
