When you turn up at 10pm to find your hotel closed you know you are in trouble. It turns out Duvan Hotell's reception closes at 4:30pm and isn't open weekends. Booking though a corporate travel agent I received no instructions or information about this.

Hotel Duvan is located a five minute walk from the central station in Uppsala and about 40 minutes with train from Stockholm airport, ARN. The hotel is a three star property in a great location in the centre of Uppsala. The rooms are nice with everything you need and if you want the social side of things there are lounge and a game room. The hotel offers a continental breakfast and should you want something else then there are plenty of restaurants and bars around the hotel. Uppsala centre with sightseeing and shopping are minutes away from the hotel. Overall a great budget hotel in Uppsala

It's really modest. The bathroom (see photo) does not have tiles but linoleum, swollen with humidity and mould, with the drain under the sink that looks like a military summer colony from the 1950s. Breakfast is tragic, there is practically nothing sweet apart from the "digestives". The reception closes at 5pm, then you go to code.
