Very functional hotel reminiscent of a UK travelodge being very clean, good comfy beds but no frills. Good wi-fi. It is located a fair walk outside of the centre but is situated very well for buses into and out of town including late night buses. Most buses finish early before 6/7pm. As we were staying 4 nights we bought a 7 day mobi-card for 2 people for €15.20 unlimited travel which is excellent value, but you have to purchase via a ticket machine as not available as an e-ticket on line. One criticism is the lack of a net curtain in bedroom, having a floor to ceiling window was like living in a goldfish bowl which could have frightened the neighbours first thing in the morning had we not been careful. The shower was good except that it could not be adjusted for height but could be hand held. Stating the hotel has a bar is a little optimistic as it consists of the hotel receptionist with beer and two bottles of wine, red or white. However I recommend you try the beer just for the sheer entertainment factor seeing it being ‘poured’. Overall we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would consider staying again as long as we remembered to pack a net curtain.

Except for the prices and the parking, which is a bit inconvenient due to the fact that every time you want to go out, you might need to call at the reception, since your car might be at the underground level, no further complaints.

We were repeatedly in the First Boarding as a base station for the party game visit. A quiet, convenient accommodation in the positive sense. The suite - next to the kitchenette (we like to cook breakfast on our own instead of standard bricks with standard cookies) - also offers a separate bedroom, a dining table, a small sofa (limited cozy ;) and a spacious shower and a separate toilet. Sufficient space in the dressing box, room safe, parking possibility in the deep garage (also for fat cars). Located at convenient location. A walk can be made in the surrounding area, to the green or in a few minutes to Villa Wahnfried, Liszt Museum, New Castle / Hofgarten and Old Town. Recommendation for all who like to renounce luxury and Butler and want to have their maintained rest.
Who would have thought it? The city of Bayreuth is not only inextricably linked with the life and work of Richard Wagner, but also with Africa. The Iwalewahaus, for example, documents contemporary culture there and the local university is one of the universities of excellence thanks to its African research. The scientific and cultural cooperation is correspondingly intensive. The interior style of the 3-star ibis Styles Hotel picks up on this connection and tries to take you on an imaginary journey.

I stayed here for the Bayreuth Festival and would definitely stay again. It's a brand new hotel, only built in 2019 (I think). The rooms were small but modern and spotlessly clean with really good, strong air-conditioning (which is an absolute MUST if you can't cope with hot August temperatures). The location is perfect for the Festspielhaus - only about 12 minutes walk and really close to the train station too. The whole place is bright and modern and there is a really nice bar and seating area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. My only criticism would be that because the windows only take up about half of the external wall then the rooms are quite dark and you can't see very well if you're trying to work or pack a suitcase when it's not daylight hours. There isn't a wardrobe but some coat hangers attached to the wall at the side of the bed - which meant I had all my long evening dresses on display in the room.

We had asked for a quiet room and we received that too. The hotel is located at a park, but also on a street. The windows are not necessarily soundproof. So the park side of the hotel was important for us. Unfortunately, the road noise is also penetrated by the park on the other side of the park.
Thanks to the location of the hotel near the city, everything is accessible by foot. This is very important for us because we don't want to drive the car to the city to bums or something to eat. Well we found there are parking places directly at the hotel. Very bad we found that although there is a wellness area, it can no longer be used. All in all was not quite appropriate for us.

I stayed at this hotel numerous times when it was under the Romantik Hotel umbrella. It has since changed hands, and it shows. I should start with a positive. The staff is excellent. Unfortunately, the front desk is not staffed until 3:00. The rooms are beginning to look very shabby. The bathrooms are still great. There are sodas and water in the refrigerator to drink without cost. The breakfast was really mediocre. There was a large selection of dry cereal, but the cheese and cold cut selection was limited, pale, and unappetizing. The fruit was equally disappointing. The hot food was ordinary. Most annoying was that one has to get coffee from a machine. If there is a tour group, there are pots of coffee. Otherwise, one has to get coffee yourself from a machine, and fiddling with a machine is one thing that I do not want to do first thing in the morning. In order to attract a young ”hip” clientele, the new owners are being cute, and I *hate* cute. The do not disturb signs read ”Rabies area. Wild animals is room!” and ”Danger! I am sleeping” There is also a cutesy thing about the staff wearing red shoes. Not an issue for me, but because the hotel is several buildings combined, there are several short flights of stairs. To end with some more positives, the hotel is a short walk from the train station and there are several nice, local restaurants nearby.

GGuest UserWe have again found the importance of service and customer orientation, attention and friendliness. We have found all this at both the reception and the breakfast room by the staff. We had the family room with a large bathroom and we felt very well. Furthermore we could submit our wheels and connect, in a multi-stage, open garage, but protected from rain. We were able to go back to the hotel by a slim way from the vest. We thank the Service Team because they made our stay around.
SSHANSHANLast night I stayed at Hotel Residenzschloss on the River Regnitz in Bamberg, just a short walk from the historic city centre. The interaction of Baroque and modern styles shapes the atmosphere of this house built in 1787. Booked two big, one small room with three meals, 9-year-old baby extra bed, the room is very spacious. The hotel has an underground parking lot. The parking fee is more than ten euros a day. The specific amount is forgotten. Easy walk to the center of Bamberg.
The location of the hotel was superb. It was within walking distance to the old town, and right next to a supermarket and a bakery. The price of the room was also very reasonable. However, the cleanliness needs to be improved. There was some hair on the quilt cover and on the pillow.
GGuest UserWe spent 2 nights at Hotel Rheingold so we could visit the sights. This was our first stay in Bayreuth even though we have ridden the Main bike path two times earlier. The hotel lies one block from the downtown pedestrian zone and one block from the large shopping mall. There is just an easy stroll to the Opera house and to the Neu Schloss. It would be much more of a walk to the Ermitage. The train station is about a 15 minute walk. The hotel has a secure bike parking closet in the basement garage. For cars the €7 daily parking fee seems good compared to other hotels we've stayed at.
We were in room 302, a double room with king bed located on a corner of the building. When we arrived we were a bit concerned that the ac wasn't working. But within minutes the maintenance man showed up with the controller and got it up and running. He was evidentally checking the ac units in all the rooms on that floor. Otherwise the room would have been very hot.
The room was clean and a reasonable size. The bathroom was also a good size, clean, and there was good hot water. We would have preferred just a shower, no bathtub, but that's just our preference.
As others have noted the breakfast was great. There was hot eggs, bacon, sausage, a variety of fresh breads, cakes, and pastries, cereal, yogurts, fruits, etc. Hard to choose the best things to eat.
We were quite happy with our stay.
GGuest UserFor a few years, we have visited the Golden Anker at the festive time and every time this unique hotel is enthusiastically new. When we come from the green hill after a evening, this magic continues in the anchor's dining room. Walls of wood, damastic decks, silver lamps, servers in sticks, good food, excellent wine and a very warm host create an incomparable atmosphere of fineness and high culture. The staircase with its crashed stairs, the pictures of the art and culture of the past centuries, looks for the same, and you will probably not find it in this density. Whoever here crawls with the stars, really did not understand this special place and would certainly be better removed, following his own intellect, in a more conventional accommodation. The golden anchor is a further highlight, along with Wagner and the market-conspicuous Opera House, on which the city can be proud. I don't want to imagine how it would be to visit the party games and not let the evening out in this hotel. I hope the Goldener Anker Hotel will continue in the hands of the family Graf for a long time and enchante guests with its unique charm.
SSteven SpielbergThe room is very spacious and bright, the surrounding is quiet, the price is right, there is a local train station next to it, it is easy to find a taxi next to the train station. There is a small restaurant called Pizza in 3 minutes. His fried noodles are more suitable for Chinese tastes. It is very convenient to travel or travel here.
We went to Bayreuth for the Ring Cycle at the Festspielhaus and Hotel Goldener Hirsch proved to be the perfect place to stay. It is a comparatively small (40 rooms) family-run (five generations) hotel within 20 minutes walk of the Festspielhaus and just two minutes from the station and buses. The welcome is warm. You soon feel part of the family. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area: transport, places to visit and restaurants. Every year, the hotel shuts for refurbishment and upgrading. The bedrooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Breakfast is a feast: eggs to order and a handsome buffet including cold meat, cheese, fruit, cakes and delicious bread. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and really pulled out the stops when one of us needed medical attention. A room was found for the other guest without making any fuss. We shall visit again next year. Where else would we stay?
Very clean with an excellent breakfast included. Close to the railway station with a 15 minute scenic stroll into the Altstadt. We were comfortable with the unusual layout - refer to the pictures with the sink and shower beside the bed. But the total lack of storage - a cupboard, drawers or even a shelf/stand to put your suitcase on - was very frustrating. We have stayed in multiple budget accommodations and never had this problem before. We would not stay here again.
We expected better. Small room and bed from one and a half square for two people. “cordial” staff (less..) Quality price ratio also no... Strategic location: in the centre and near station and bus stop. Bathroom with a kind of glass door that was also used to close half shower, bad idea. No bottle of water welcome. No fridge bar. For the money spent, this stay could be much more pleasant.
