Kintarou Onsen

Hot springs are the best! It made my swollen legs feel refreshed. I felt like it was slowly working on my body. The large public bath shared with the day-trip hot spring was dynamic with lots of large rocks. The room was comfortable and I slept well on the bed.

After sightseeing at Yuki-no-Otani on the Kurobe Alpine Route, I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room. The room was renovated and cleaned, so it was very comfortable. I arrived early, so I hurried to take an early bath and went to the famous open-air bath at Karna no Yakata. The changing room was empty, so I headed to the bathhouse, but I was disappointed to see that it was full of day-trippers. ・°°・(＞_＜)・°°・。 It seems that the changing rooms for guests and day-trippers are separate, so I quickly left. For dinner, I had a multi-course meal. The seasoning was also delicious. The breakfast was a buffet and delicious, but I would have liked it if there were a few more dishes, and I liked the miso soup with lots of ingredients. I took a bath in the large mural bath, which is only available to guests, early in the morning, but this bath was more spacious and enjoyable.

When I stayed there 4 years ago, the room was a Japanese-Western style with an open-air bath, and they made me tea (not necessary now because of COVID) and had some kind of jelly in the fridge, which was a great hospitality. The bath had a sulfur smell, but there were many types and I was very satisfied. This time, the room was clean, but the bath was the same as before and was undeniably old. As for the food, it was obvious that there were not enough people, and the next dish was not served for a long time. They should have just left it out from the beginning. Considering the price, I don't think I will come again.

Kintaro Onsen is a famous Japanese hot spring, and it was the best. It was my first time bathing in a sulfur chloride spring, and it felt great. The day-trip hot spring Karuna no Yakata has a large public bath, an open-air bath, a sauna, a reclining bath, a jet bath, and other health baths, and the hotel has a large mural bath and sauna, both of which were very satisfying. They also came to greet me when I checked in, and even gave me a sign and an explanation of how to enter the facility on the sofa! I was touched by their hospitality! They went to such lengths for me! The food was delicious, too. The staff were all very kind, and this is the No. 1 hot spring I want to visit again. Thank you for your help.

We stayed here on a tour to Kurobe. My family member developed a fever early in the morning, and we decided not to continue with the tour. We wanted to extend our stay and take them to a local hospital, but the inn's response was, "We're fully booked." When we told them that we had checked the availability on a travel site beforehand, they changed their attitude and said that they had availability, but that it was only for the travel site, so we had to check out and check in again. For someone with a fever. We asked if they could let us stay, but they refused, saying that they would have to adjust the room or something. They probably wanted to get rid of someone with a fever in this day and age, but they refused to let us stay. They also refused to bring breakfast to our room for hygienic reasons. We just wanted something that was easy to swallow to take our medicine. We didn't feel any consideration at all. I don't know if this is the hotel's policy or a personal decision, but this is a 4-star hotel. I will never forget that they lied to us and said that they were fully booked. Of course, I will never use them again.

The exterior and interior of the hotel are both old-fashioned, but the lobby is calm and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. The room was renovated and clean, and the bathroom was also quite nice. There was a shower room, but it was made of glass, so you could see anyone in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The TV had terrestrial BSCS channels, but some CS channels were weak. The view was average. The hot springs for hotel guests were close, but the hot springs for day-trippers (Canal no Yakata) were a little far away. This time we only went to Canal no Yakata. There was a dressing room for hotel guests. I couldn't find the lockers at first glance. Some of the lockers were broken. Even though there were day-trippers, there were a few more people than usual, even on a weekday. When there are a lot of people, some customers are disappointed, but that can't be helped. On the first day, we went to the open-air bath, which wasn't very crowded. There were two open-air baths, but the temperature didn't change much. However, it was naturally hot near the water outlet, and in some places it was just the right temperature. Basically, it smelled of hydrogen sulfide, but there was quite a bit of salt, so you could clearly smell the salty smell mixed in. The next day, there were only guests staying overnight, so it wasn't that crowded. Therefore, we were able to experience the jet bath and reclining bath. Dinner was a kaiseki meal. All the food was typical of Toyama, and it was delicious, especially given the season. However, it felt a bit lacking. I felt that the price was not commensurate with the plan. The location was the morning buffet venue, so the a**osphere was a bit negative. Breakfast was a buffet. Most of the Japanese food was Toyama cuisine. It was delicious, but overall it was a bit salty. The Western food was about average for a normal hotel. Overall, I felt that the buffet was better than your average resort hotel. It may be disappointing for those who only want Western food, though.

The tatami mats were wavy, probably because the floor joists had fallen out. It was the first time I've ever been shown to such a terrible room. I question the manager's conscience. It was called the second annex, but if you're planning to stay there, it's best to check in advance.
