We did a 2-week Scottish road trip, and my husband booked us in here for a treat - it was the most expensive hotel of the 2 week trip. Sadly, the place is really disorganised and weren't expecting us, despite being a long-standing booking. The room is old and tired and smells of smoke. The bathroom is tiny and the window is covered in black mould, and there were holes in the ceiling. The view from the bedroom was great, but the windows were jammed shut, so the room really heated up in the sun. The trim from the chair was hanging on the floor. There is no advertised 'restaurant' just a pub bar (with no real ale) that does food, and they couldn't cater for everyone there as they didn't have the staff. Frankly, for £145 a night, I would expect a bloody good cooked breakfast, but they only offer a 'continental' one. HOWEVER, when we went down for it well within time, the cleaner told us that there was NO breakfast, it was shut, and to speak to the manager! There is a place for pubs like this that do accommodation only, but not when they advertised falsely, and charge for meals that they don't deliver! We left after one night and have been in contact, leaving messages but no-one has returned our calls. This one's price is pitched way above the market and is far too expensive for what they offer. £70 per night would be the right price point. It's pretty much just a hostel.

This is the worst hotel in Ullapool. Avoid it at all costs. Dirty, furnishings old, service terrible and it should be closed by the local council as it is not fit to be a hotel as it is a disgrace to Ullapool. Terrible value for money and you will be better off staying anywhere else.

Just called in here for a couple of drinks when staying in Ullapool. Drinks were fine and service good. Quite busy when we visited and the bar has a good atmosphere. Would definitely call in again when up there.

At well over £100 for a single bed without breakfast this was always going to get a middling review. Pros: convenient for the ferry, friendly staff, clean and above a pub. Cons: decor tired, carpets threadbare, walls thin, no shortbread on the tea tray (as advertised), cracked shower base. I’m afraid this sums up the majority of UK hospitality nowadays.

I cannot believe how awful this stay was . The room was dated with damage all over . The bed didn’t even have a headboard . If I had paid £20 for this I would have still been appalled , but at £175 without breakfast I was scandalised . I would avoid at all costs .

This hotel is badly needing a major overhaul. We had water dripping in the bathroom light, damp walls, peeling wallpaper, damp bedding and missing glass in the hallway window. The final straw was the towels in the restaurant floor catching the water. The pictures on the website give a totally misleading impression of this harbour front establishment

Beautiful location but it's a very tired inn in need of an upgrade and some TLC The rooms aren't cheap so was shocked at the condition of the one I stayed in - the mattress was awful, the 1 pillow was literally a stone, the windows were so rotten they wouldn't shut which then let all the midges and noise in.....awful nights sleep My room was up 2 flights of steep steps next to a door and a fire exit....heard everything all night.... It would have got a 1 star but the breakfast was good and the staff were lovely 😊 Would not stay here again or recommend and if you do book avoid room 7......

Only ate here, hubby had the mussels, I hade the hake. The food was lovely, the portions spot on and the lady who served us was really pleasant. The decor in the restaurant / bar was dated but the view was amazing, would definitely eat here again 😊

This review is for the restaurant only. Had a really great dining experience, lovely fish and chips, the venison burger was the best I've had too! Has got a really good feel to the place, like it has been there for many years serving countless generations.
