When Aeroflot suddenly terminated their international flights on the 6th of March, and I decided to return to my family in Moscow, there was only one way to go - cross the border between Mongolia and go by bus 222 km to Ulan-Ude. I asked my wife to pick the best hotel in town, and this is the one she picked. Honestly, I am almost 100% sure there is nothing similar in this remote region just south of Baykal Lake. Very affordable, perfect clean and nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, tastefully designed bathroom and quiet both to street and between rooms. The hotel has good bars, restaurant and fitness with pool. Excellent kind and indeed service-minded staff. I told I was leaving in the morning before breakfast. No issue at all, did not even have to ask for breakfast box. I am already planning to bring my family here when we do our long awaited Moscow - Baykal SUV tour...

The hotel is very comfortable in accommodation. It was stayed twice on the way to Mongolia and back. A wonderful and responsive administrator Julia both helped us with advice around the city, was cheerful and hospitality. The horror of this hotel is breakfast. For the declared 5 stars, they are simply not suitable anywhere. Small choice, unclean tables, 2 people (servants) sitting behind the counter and doing nothing, absolutely indifferent and indiscriminate. In the second trip, no one warned us that breakfast was served on a preliminary request (imagine it!). We hurried to the airport and asked for the money back for breakfast - ”it is impossible, it is included in the residence.” Hotel managers urgently need to completely reconsider the breakfast issue, it spoils the general impression of the hotel.
