The ryokan cum hotel is located in a historic town dating back to the Edo period, however, this building is only 106 years old consisting of 5 rooms. I stayed at the one with beds upstairs by way of access via a steep flight of stairs, definitely not for elderly. The room was nice and clean, heating and cooling by split type aircons, bathroom with a wooden tub, no TV. Reception unavailable after 6:30pm, if you want anything after that, WhatsApp them. Since the hotel is located right on a major road, therefore, it was extremely noisy all the time with road noise. Difficult to get a decent sleep. Breakfast was served at another location, about 8-10min walk to a 160 year old building. Food was yummy and service was attentive. A nice experience overall, but for the price I would choose another one where it's in a quieter location.

I was grateful for the kindness they gave me when I checked in and when I had breakfast. The accommodation was renovated from an old mansion and had a great atmosphere. There was a bar table that I could use freely, but I couldn't use it because I went alone. It was great except for the fact that it was a little scary to go to the convenience store because the surroundings were dark.
