We went for Sunday lunch. Lovely place and really attentive staff. Sunday lunch was good, but have to admit I've had better. Roast beef was tender but well cooked. Good variety of vegetables, roast potatoes could have been crispier. Enjoyed it but won't return due to the cost.

Very disappointing. Have been enjoying Turtley for several years, spending significantly, but our past couple of visits have been a poor experience. The food is no longer of a consistently good quality with smaller portions allied to higher prices!! Put simply it does not represent value for money. We will now be exploring other nearby venues where we hope to rediscover the original 'Turtley Experience' we enjoyed over many years. What a shame........

Visited mid-August for our wedding anniversary. Customer service is the main aim at this beautiful location. Every single member of the team take looking after their guests to the next level. The food is amazing, more than amazing, it’s exceptional! The property is decorated wonderfully, clean and well kept. So if you are looking for a break where you are truly welcomed and appreciated, this is the place. Easy access to Salcombe and Dartmoor.

We had a night's B&B here, on the way to our holiday accommodation further south. From arrival, to leaving, the staff were very helpful and professional. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated, and the complementary toiletries in the bathroom were amazing! There was also plenty of space to hang/store clothes etc. We found the bed very comfy and it was good to have a Nespresso in the room. The whole building has a lovely atmosphere and is nicely decorated with artifacts etc. The only thing stopping me giving 5 stars was the breakfast. I don't like huge breakfasts and they did at least have choices other than fried stuff, so I ordered the porridge. It was tepid and almost completely solid. It tasted OK but I make it better myself! My partner had the full English and he enjoyed that.

I can't say enough good things about this property, the staff that work there and the lodge that we stayed in by the side of the lake. The Lodge is quite simply exceptional. The build and fit out and furniture, the comfort of the bed, the bifold doors at the front and the view is incomparable. They have thought of everything inside the Lodge and made it such a beautiful place to stay. We didn't want to leave. The size and comfort of the bed in particular is fantastic. It's probably the best room I've stayed in in terms of design, comfort and amenity. One day, we woke up, opened the bifold doors and lay in bed watching a heron in the lake, 20 feet away. The team literally couldn't do enough for us. Anything we wanted. The dining room, the menu and the food was really good.

Unfortunately After reading other reviews and our own experience,The customer is not always right as the management here are readily and quickly to point out why you are wrong. The food was good but the service style led by management sadly lets the venue down.Don’t dare to complain

Just returned from a fantastic week long stay at Turtley with my wonderful wife and our 9 month old Cockapoo, Milo. We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges which was really amazing - wonderful views and sounds of nature - and fantastic luxury amenities in the lodge. I can’t thank the wonderful staff enough, they were so friendly and helpful and fussed over Milo (even when he was barking 😂) and looked after us at all meal times. The food is as fabulous as ever and the grounds are so spacious, you can always find space to yourself as needed. We used it as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall and can’t recommend it highly enough. Plan a visit, you won’t regret it - we will certainly be back!

We stopped overnight on a Sunday to break a long journey. The overwhelming impression was of welcome and friendliness. Our room was very comfortable and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought into providing everything you could possibly need, including those holy grail items - good bathroom lighting and plenty of mirrors. When we arrived the bedside lights were lit and the radio was on low - very welcoming. The restaurant had a good few other customers on a Sunday night so had a nice atmosphere, the menu had plenty of options and the food was good. Breakfast was truly excellent - one of the best I've had in a while. Every member of staff we met was, without exception, charming and helpful - it mut be a nice place to work as well as to visit!
