Booked a night away for my daughters hen night with 6 close friends. Wanted a lovely meal and a relaxing stay to pamper her. Firstly the accommodation was beautiful had 2 lodges, extremely clean and lovely views. Sadly, that was the only good experience. Booked lunch, spa and evening meal weeks in advance and paid extra for a late checkout. On arrival I paid in full. Staff in bar on arrival were too busy having a disagreement and didn’t even acknowledge us (we were the only ones stood waiting). After a while got served and had drinks on the lovely terrace. Went for lunch where we waited approx 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We only ordered light bites and no full meals. One didn’t arrive until 30 minutes after everyone else finished. Asked for drinks, took another 20 mins. After this went to pool area.. very nice and clean. Came back to hotel for evening meal, restaurant was busy and was told by waitress probably better to order drinks and food at same time as they had a new computer system and only one barman! Ordered drinks and some water for table. Nothing arrived for 30 mins so I went to bar to just ask for some water. Barman huffed and said only had 1 jug left! I asked if I could please take that myself as we were all thirsty, food then arrived, still no drinks. So I went back to bar after another 20 mins, again grumpy barman moaned as we had asked for 2 aperol spritz and he’d run out of aperol. By that stage I just said we would have anything! Waitress was busy and said other guests needed serving before us, making us feel very low down on the list even though we arrived before them. After we had finished and others had left she realised it was a special occasion and offered us 1 glass of Prosecco to make up for waiting .. between 7 of us! We commented that was a bit tight so she then offered us a bottle! When bill came we were overcharged by £40 for swimming?! I questioned this and it was a mistake by new system! We were going to stay later for drinks, but decided it wasn’t very welcoming, so went back to the lodge and had a lovely evening. At 9am both lodges received phone calls to ask for proof of payment of accommodation as they clearly lost this… on the new system! Not great when we wanted a (paid for) lay in and being accused of not paying! On checkout produced the receipt to the apologetic receptionist (who was the nicest member of staff there). The Manager was called and agreed this hadn’t been a good one night stay for a bride to be and our experience was not as it should have been. She said she would give us a part refund as ggw but as the “new system” wouldn’t let her do it there and then, would contact us the next day to sort this. Yesterday was the first email I had received after 2 months and me contacting them 4 times, from the food and beverage manager, saying they gave us a bottle so that was enough!! All I wanted was a relaxing night for my daughter and friends, not a Fawlty Towers night with rude staff! Sha

Lovely hotel and location. Staff are very friendly and the food in the restaurant is good. However we booked this hotel because it had a swimming pool and gym, which were important to us. After we booked we received a message to say that the pool would be closed for most of our stay. Why this was not on the website beforehand is not known. We were told that we could use the pool at a local hotel, 2 miles away. On arrival we were told that the gym was not available either - we had not been informed of this at all. We were told that we could use the gym at the other hotel - on enquiry we discovered that the other hotel doesn't have a gym! Generally the communication about the closures was very poor and the attitude was 'we are sorry' but basically it meant 'tough'. Staff clearly aren't given discretion to appease guests - no offer of recompense at all. Finally - the room was lovely. It was clearly designed for wheelchair users. However there are a lot of steps down from reception so wheelchair users would have to go down a long path to the back of the room. The back door to the room was not wide enough for a wheelchair, and there was a step! It really doesn't feel as though the hotel wants to be accessible.

Really loved this place, the lodge we stayed is was massive and comfortable, the grounds are lovely and the woodland play area was a huge hit with our daughter. The swimming pool is lovely bub you have to book a slot and there are only two showers and two changing rooms, this prooved ot be a bit of an issue as everyone was leaving after the one hour slot and there were lots of people standing about in a small space waiting to shower and get changed which made it quite stressful overall. However can't fault the holiday as a whole and would definitely visit again.

LOVELY cottages with beautiful ocean view. That said, we are here for four days and they will not provide any housekeeping other than bringing new towels if asked. Charge more and come refresh guys! The hotel staff are lovely but understaffed. It’s a gorgeous property that needs a different mindset. Facility a 10. Service? (Not the specific staff but what is offered). A 4.

Have always enjoyed the Sunday roast dinners here, but latest visit was not as great as we remember. Just about warm (not hot) roast potatoes, dry parsnips and only 2 small slices of meat and the Yorkshire pudding dry and tasteless. What saved the meal was the fabulous staff, very attentive and friendly. Hopefully the new owners will improve the standards within the hotel & its services.

Recently had new owners resulting in major loss of staff, poor admin and communication systems menu same for 4 nights for lunch and dinner, poor quality food. I complained that I had not been informed about Hotel problems in advance. Duty Manager claimed that people had been informed. I spoke to several guests who said they had not been informed. I complained, requested compensation and the Duty Manger promised to get back to me before I left the Hotel. He did not which sums up the Hotels attitude to guests. Your choice if you wish to book this Hotel. But for the Staff, who were very helpful, I would have rated this TERRIBLE.

We decided on Trenython Manor for our wedding day after meeting up with Sarah Knowles Events Manager. Sarah was so helpful with everything and nothing was to much trouble. On the day Sarah was on hand to make sure everything went off just how we had planned it. The weather was terrible that day so we had to have all our photos taken inside the manor house but we need not have worried as the interior at Trenython is beautiful and we were kindly allowed to have our guests throw the confetti in the little chapel where we were married. The chapel was just perfect for our 30 wedding guests and since the wedding a number of our guests have said what a perfect day it was. Bill and I are so glad we decided to have our special day at Trenython Manor. Thank you to all the staff who made it a day to cherish.

The surroundings and accommodation were lovely on first sight. We had a warm welcome on reception, and the lodge we stayed in was very spacious and well equipped. There's an amazing view from the site over the coast. Unfortunately, the site was like a ghost town - it is VERY quiet, which may be exactly what you're looking for, but I found it too quiet. There were a few cars around, so we knew people were there, but barely actually saw anyone!! The three times we tried to eat in the restaurant (over 5 days and during opening hours advertised), we got a different excuse, the best one being "we're not open tonight" (Saturday night 7.30!!!). Fortunately, there are some great pubs around serving fantastic food (The Ship Inn, The Rashleigh Inn and The New Inn - all within a few minutes - were all superb.) The pool was nice and quiet!! Good facilities, friendly staff. Plenty of parking space :D The games section on the lawn consisted of a broken Connect 4, a broken swingball, a deflated football and a croquet game with no bats or balls. The forest walk and play area was nice (quiet!). Overall, this is a nice quiet place to stay for a nice quiet break. It's very convenient for the Eden Project. I would say that if you are looking for the look and feel of Cornwall, then this is not the place to be. You won't find lovely beaches, the laidback surf vibe or anything of that nature until you drive some distance away from it.
