Maison DIX Tusson

We booked this property on the basis that it was close to a fine dining experience we wanted to visit (Le Compostelle - Tusson) but this accommodation turned out to be the perfect pairing for a wonderful weekend. This is a small 2 room facility, but is perfectly appointed to the highest quality. The bedroom had everything we needed, and more. Sometimes choosing to drive or ride a motorcycle, private secure parking is a real value add for me and this has that, which is not often the case with this size of property. As hosts, Graeme and Phil couldn't have been better suited for what we needed, although I doubt I actually needed the very enjoyable nightcap and conversation provided after the 6 course tasting menu and wine pairing at Le Compostelle. In short this is a great spot with excellent facilities and very warm welcome. We would not hesitate to return

The previous reviews re Maison Dix say it all, and I can only reiterate that it is an absolutely amazing place. We had a wonderful four night stay at Maison Dix which is situated in the heart of the lovely village of Tusson. A beautiful, comfortable, welcoming home where nothing is too much trouble for our hosts, Graeme and Phil. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at ease. Everything was spot on, with great attention to detail. High end equipment, fluffy dressing gowns and towels, lovely comfy bed. A smashing courtyard where breakfast could be served. The village itself is a delight to walk around, where a stop at Gateaux for a drink and the most delicious cakes is a must. On our next visit to the area we will definitely be staying here again. Just spent 4 nights at Maison Dix, Tusson and from the minute we arrived to when we left Graeme and Phil were just the perfect hosts. Welcomed with much needed cold drinks after our drive from Bordeaux and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. The property is a beautiful 15th century house full of history and rustic charm yet decorated to a high standard. Our room was spacious with a lovely modern bathroom and hot shower. Bed was comfy with lovely bedding and fluffy pillows. Fresh filtered water and espresso coffee in the room was a lovely touch. Welcomed each morning with a delicious continental breakfast to start the day. The house is set in the beautiful historic rural village of Tusson surrounded by farms and fields with great walks. A great location and base for visiting the Cognac region taking in one of the distillery tours as well as La Rochelle. There is nothing we can fault, the house, location and hospitality are all first class. Couple that with the peace, tranquility and lovely relaxed pace of life, we can’t recommend this property highly enough and are looking forward to our next visit to Maison Dix.

What a lovely place to stay! Such attention to detail and the wonderful ambiance of a lovely comfortable room in an historic French village. Exceptional cleanliness, fluffy white towels, comfortable bed. Our hosts had thought of everything to make our sejourn with them a pleasure. Nothing is too much trouble and we will certainly come again.

Very welcoming on arrival. Extremely accommodating during our stay. Graeme brought us cool bag with some cold milk and a bottle of filtered water to help us settle in to our room with a nice cuppa. We were invited to join Graeme and Peter for a couple of cold beers while we talked about their experiences of moving to France from the UK. The property is spotlessly clean and our room was very comfortable with sumptuous bed linen, bathrobes and lovely fluffy towels. We slept well and enjoyed a lovely hot shower before tucking into a delicious continental breakfast in their welcoming kitchen and it’s toasty warm log burner. We would highly recommend staying at Maison Dix Tusson with G&P, they are the perfect hosts and will ensure your stay is a comfortable and relaxing one. We had a fabulous 3 day stay at the gorgeous Maison Dix with our little dog. Graeme and Phil are the perfect hosts and made us all feel very welcome. In fact we didn’t want to leave! It was the perfect place to relax in the beautiful village of Tusson with its fascinating history and famous cake shop/cafe. The bed was super comfy and the room was stylish and spacious and well equipped with a great ensuite. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast outside in the sunshine. And the super fast Wi-Fi was an added bonus. We had a great stay thanks and can strongly recommend.
