Hotel Alpi Resort

We chose the hotel so we could be on walking distance of the centre plus have private parking (at only 15 Euro per day). That was great. And we got a good tip from the receptionist of an Eataly in the city which meant we didn't have to go out of the city to get there. The hotel is just situated around the corner of the Po river and the galleries. However, it is a central hotel which meant that the bathroom was crammed with a basin, a bidet, a toilet and a shower capsule that reminded us of Barbarella, the movie (we had a standard room). Also it meant that on Thursday it was busy with students at a bar nearby and thus rather noisy. However, the airconditioning had a wonderful sleep function (nice for at night). It wasn't a cosy room, but compared to other hotels we saw in the same price range it is quite agreeable. On top of the hotel (it is on the 3rd floor and higher of a building) in the breakfast room, fresh cappuccino would be made. The breakfast is typical Italian, sweet breads and cakes and fruit. The elevator was romantic and vintage, reminded me of La Giornata Particulare. At night there is a night porter, which gave a safe feeling.

This is a slightly random hotel consisting of rooms and apartments right in the city centre. We had a lovely stay in a big, first floor apartment that was airy, very comfortable, charming and spotlessly clean. Staff are super friendly and helpful though speaking a few words of Italian might help. Although our room overlooked the street and the tram track we weren’t disturbed by the noise, and my wife is a light sleeper. I would describe the hotel as quiet but not silent. The breakfast room is a bit pokey and gimcrack but the coffee is fresh and there’s lots of choice of cake in a typically Italian way. I really liked this place.

I stayed for 6 nights at the Alpi. It was perfect for what I needed. Friendly staff. Super clean rooms - which for me is the most important thing. Everything worked including the air conditioning. I asked for an iron which they left in my room all week. The breakfast was lovely a large selection of pastries and they make you a delicious coffee from a expresso machine. Derlish! The only down side is the noise from the street but I had already read about this on Tripadvisor so I went prepared with earplugs. I slept like a baby. There are trams trundling past on the main road and side road as its a central location. Take earplugs and you'll be fine. Oh and the take away pizza from across the road is a delicious and handy bonus. I would definitely return.

Excellent central location, spacious and clean rooms, possibility of parking. But the rest... The old wooden windows don't close well and you can hear all the nightlife noises from the street. Breakfast just enough. Tetris parking. On the phone they offer us an alternative apartment for the price of two rooms and free breakfast, they say it would not be included with the apartment. But when we arrive we see that the apartment has a kitchen shared with other strangers and a broken fridge. How could we prepare breakfast in common? In practice we had one bathroom less than two bedrooms. But the worst thing is the woman at the reception, the tall blonde one, I hope she is not the owner. Aggressive, rude, and incompetent. Never seen worse

Bit of a late review, but stayed in hotel Alpi resort for 2 nights. The massive plus of this hotel was its location. The river Po is nearby, the viewpoint of Monte Dei Cappucini wasn’t far from the hotel either. On the other hand, the rooms were a bit outdated, no coffee/tea facilities and no fridge for drinks or food. Breakfast wasn’t great as some items weren’t available e.g necessities such as butter, milk for tea etc. Overall good hotel if you want the perk of location, not great for maybe more than a night.
