Do not stay here! If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! I am surprised it’s even open to the public. Save yourself a headache, anger and time. My experience in a gist… Schitts Creek Motel vibe but worse!!! Upon arriving to the location after a 10 hour long drive the front desk receptionist (Trystin) was discourteous she only asked for the reservation name & didn’t even greet me or give details about the location of my room, I had to figure it out on my own. I drive to my location & in the parking space there’s glass on the floor as if a car had been broken into (first of one of many red flags). I try to open my room but the room key doesn’t work. I go back to the front desk and the receptionist seems annoyed. I go to the room & the room stinks like a public restroom or porta potty. I look around the room & there’s a blind that is broken where outsiders could peek through. I try to brush it off & go to use the restroom & there’s a thin layer of toilet paper left on the roll. That’s not all folks, I check the bed & I see random hair on top of the bed…I pull the covers to see what’s inside but find more hair but from down there!!! It’s ridiculous!! I immediately request to have my money reimbursed…I was willing to stay in my car than to stay in that place, but luckily I was able to find another location that was 100 times better (I paid more but it was worth it). I spoke to the supposed manager & was told I wouldn’t be charged due to the fact they didn’t have the room up to par. I get my credit card bill & of course I see that they had charged it & I had to deal with getting that money reimbursed!! Worst experience ever to say the least! If I could report it to BBB, Yelp or anywhere I will!! That place needs to be under investigation. I get it that it’s a small town away from it all, but still, no place should be offered to the public in that condition. I wasn’t expecting 5 star treatment but just a basic clean & safe place to sleep after a long drive. I sure hope someone reads this and gains some insight & steers clear unless it’s to investigate it!!!!! See the images they speak for themselves.

Gunn House Hotel
3.6/585 Reviews
Stayed at Gunn House for three nights while visiting the gold rush country. Joe and Manny where great hosts and made sure we had everything to make our stay comfortable. The hotel is old and some of the amenities are a bit outdated, but quite functional for our stay. Very quiet at night so we got lots of needed sleep. Ample parking available and the location is right downtown. The breakfast that is included in the price was excellent and the dining room was quite charming. We will stay here again next time we are in the area.
Heritage Inn - Yosemite/Sonora
3.8/5102 Reviews
This place was amazing! The front desk lady, Sharon, was really helpful and called to check in on us after we settled in. The breakfast was good, a bit limited but had a great selection of different things. I’d recommend to go earlier before everyone gets the good stuff. The heater worked really well, and the bathroom was pretty big. The tv didn’t really have any good channels, so I just got an HDMI cable along and hooked up my computer to the tv. One thing to look out for is that you can’t cook here, so make sure to either bring food or be ready to eat out. The hotel was in the middle of downtown, and Walmart was only 5 minutes away, so that was convenient. Overall, a great and affordable hotel to stay in.
McCaffrey House Bed and Breakfast Inn
4.8/514 Reviews
The McCaffrey House checks all the boxes! Incredibly clean, quiet, quaint, and spacious. Feels like a true vacation in the Sierras, regardless of all the new regulations around traveling. Stephanie McCaffrey is the epitome of a gracious host- tending to every need, providing suggestions, and making accommodations anytime/anywhere. I will definitely return and look forward to my next stay! Highly recommend taking advantage of their spacious outdoor patio and enjoying a meal or beverage while reading or just taking in the nature surrounding their property. Breakfast was delicious, and the Inn has the perfect amount of socializing (or privacy) depending on your preference. Plenty of parking and tucked away off the road for ultimate serenity. 5 stars all around!
Jamestown Railtown Motel
3.7/599 Reviews
On a two thousand mile motorcycle ride you end up staying in some interesting places. Finding this place was a huge bonus! The rooms are nothing special, even a bit dated but they are extremely clean and very comfy. We were a little disappointed that there wasn’t any coffee in the rooms but were rewarded by the owner, Andrea, who made us a pot of very good coffee accompanied with half and half and sweetener. Did I mention outstanding service? We are all cigar smokers and Andrea also brought us comfy chairs so we could enjoy our morning smoke out in front of our rooms, just another very thoughtful touch. It is such a treat to find great, old-fashion service with hosts willing to above and beyond to make us comfortable. We ride through every couple of years and will most definitely return to the Railtown Motel! Thank you again!
Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite
4.5/5100 Reviews
It is said that this hotel has to be booked long in advance, otherwise it is difficult to book! Located in the Yosemite Valley, it is more like a resort hotel in nature, as well as a variety of activities for children, not to mention the environment. I was fortunate enough to book this hot hotel. When I checked in, I was told that the room was upgraded! ! Upgraded into a family room, I suddenly felt a little lost with my husband. We live in the K area. The tap water in the hotel is all spring water. I curiously tried the shampoo and hair care products that come with the bathroom. It feels very good. The shampoo conditioner feels anti-off, and the taste is light and loose. It smells good! Dinner in their restaurant, the high-cost western restaurant, opened in the valley, but the price is not expensive than the downtown restaurant, the taste is also very good, praise! !
Historic Sonora Inn
3.7/5102 Reviews
Great location in downtown Sonora - walking distance to restaurants and shops. Really enjoyed the historic aspect and decor of the inn but it is definitely in need of maintenance and upgrades. Carpet is worn, doors stick, and general repairs are needed throughout. While the staff was friendly, we did have issues with housekeeping providing minimal service (bed covers somewhat pulled up - empty the trash). One day they never did anything so we moved to another room and then moved back again the following day after the room was properly cleaned (second room was on the front of the building and was noisy from all the traffic). Overall, I would recommend the property because of the location and interesting history. I just hope they take the steps to make this inn as amazing as it could be.
