"Booked maia hotel for 5 nights... hotel was jist as described... located in ”du lac” which is the high end clean beautiful and peaceful side of tunis.
The hotel itself was good , the room was very spacious and clean , breakfast was nice (not buffet) served at the table , better then most other hotels I've stayed in previously in tunis
Customer service was amazing , especially Riyadh and atif , these 2 members of staff (at reception) were extremely helpful and kind
Would defo recommend this hotel and will be rebooking this for future visits!"
"Beautiful hotel. Single room a little too small. Really accurate and precise service with towel change in the evening and room check. Only negative note they didn't call me for the wake up call even though I recommended it... I hope next time they give me a bigger room 😀"
"The hotel is in the center of the old city, antique, the roof can watch the sunrise and sunset, very comfortable. Walking in the old city, the surrounding travel is very convenient, very satisfied!"
"The room is clean and tidy, the bathroom is spacious and easy to use, the hotel is in a prime location with very convenient transportation. The surrounding restaurants are convenient and delicious and inexpensive!
Unfortunately, it was a bit noisy outside, which affected my sleep. The breakfast was delicious but there were not many varieties."
"The hotel was right in the centre. I stayed in room 303. Small with double bed though considering i booked single room. Room was clean and tiday and compact. Dud not have kettle or fridge and no glass could be found. The night receptionist was very helpful, cheerful and found me a glass and some water."
"The location is very good, right at the main entrance of the ancient city, with the Porte de France at the door and the main attractions nearby. It's not far from the train station and can be reached on foot. The hotel itself is a historical building. Although it is very old, the rooms are clean. The service staff at the front desk and restaurant are very enthusiastic."
"This hotel is located in the center of Tunisia and is an old hotel. As soon as I entered the hotel, I saw the big boss of the hotel supervising the work at the front desk. The boss also walked back and forth and helped with the management of the hotel. This was very impressive. The boss is polite and warm. I booked a suite this time and it was very clean and comfortable. The most unique thing is that there is a stool in the bathtub. This is specially arranged for the elderly or travelers with limited mobility. This is very thoughtful and deserves praise. It was very peaceful to sleep at night. The suite has a balcony with city views. The room includes meals, and the food is local specialties and delicious. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Tunisia."

Great
SS.YurieWhen traveling alone, I don't have very high requirements for accommodation. It just needs to be clean and have a private bathroom. The Swissotel is in a very good location, near the train station and only a few hundred meters from Medina, in a small alley next to the main road. During the day, I saw cleaners cleaning the path in front of the door, but at night there would be a lot of garbage on the road. This has something to do with the national character of this country. People are used to throwing garbage on the ground. This is not the hotel's fault. The interior of the hotel is very clean. Go right from the hotel and there is a big trash can at the intersection. At night, it is often overturned and scattered with garbage. If you want to go to the supermarket to buy things, you must pass by this trash can. This may be the reason for the bad surrounding environment mentioned in some comments. The breakfast is different every day, simple and delicious. It is 8 kilometers from the hotel to the airport, and it costs 8 dinars to take a metered taxi. But from the airport to the hotel, you will be charged 25 dinars.
The toilet in the room I stayed in did not have a toilet seat, and I could discuss changing rooms with the hotel.

GGuest UserI have never stayed at this Hotel before, many in Tunis Centre. The Hotel was excellent. I read some of the reviews about noise and dogs Barking, I never heard anything, maybe because at the back. Service on arrival was great and the 3 nights stay all reception and security were friendly and polite.
Room 242 was excellent, big, twin beds, only me in room, all amenities in place, was very clean and air-conditioning worked well.
Breakfast was excellent everything there. Staff could have been a little happier only once did I get good morning. Food was great and fresh.
I will definately stay here again, right in Centre, everything nearby.
For the price best hotel I have stayed in Tunis Centre.

AAnonymous UserIt is not bad to live here and chill would be the best choice in Ramadan even. It is not bad to live here and chill would be the best choice in Ramadan even.
AAnonymous UserThe room facilities are good, the breakfast is rich, there are restaurants around, and it is convenient to go to various places. It is very suitable for short-term business trips. There is a park near the hotel and it is relatively quiet.
GGuest UserThe location is good and the receptionist is super helpful. She also speaks really good English. The only sad thing is the breakfast. After I eat the pain au chocolat I have a phobia when I want to buy from the street. I never tasted something so bad..

Good
GGuest UserMixed review, but overall too pricy hostel for the quality of the service. Having a good location and a cute decoration isn’t enough. Pros and cons below :
Pros :
- Amazing location in the heart of the Medina ideally located
- Cute hostel with beautiful tiles
- Kind and helpful staff
Cons :
- The room we booked in advance was not available when we arrived. Instead of a double bed room, we were put in a bunk beds room with no explication or apologies. No solution, accommodations or compensation were offered to us afterwards. Very poor service from the hotel on that side and I saw online afterwards it’s not the first time they’re doing that
- Noisy hostel with no soundproof rooms at all. All the rooms are close to each other and open to the dining area with the breakfast starting at 7:30am and people coming back very late at night. Earplugs very much needed
- Average breakfast, the quality of the products is poor knowing what is available in the area. Be careful with water as some plastic bottles for breakfast are filled with tap water
- Be aware you’ll have to walk at least 5min in little paved streets after taking off your taxi and finding a taxi to leave the area won’t be always very easy
Sstarboy ashaniHonestly speaking. It's good for the cheap price but could be a bit cleaner.
Lifts are old and the lift door sensor dnt really work do doors squash on u.
The room I requested when booking, wasn't the room I got. However, it was a massive room with queen size bed and a double, which were quite comfy.
Bathroom bath too messy, it's like they patch painted bits of it.
You can hear every noise from another room and in passage.
View through the window wasn't good as shown in photos. Images advertised by hotel are a lot more different when you're actually there.
Hotel had no source of clean hot water. So I don't recommend bringing your baby here. I had to buy thermost and bottled water and go to the cafe around the corner and get them to warm it.
Air conditioning was rubbish in the room I got. Toilet couldn't flush properly, have to take lid off and press from in there.
No iron, no kettle.
Very helpful Staffs, 3 nice bars, regular room service.
GGuest UserThis hotel is everything it promises. Great service, great facilities, wonderful food and bar and safe town centre location. The locality gives one access to virtually everything one needs in terms of shops, services and amenities. You need a haircut or shave - 2 minutes walk; you need a mall - 2 minutes walk; a hammam - back of the hotel; you want to eat out - just step out - got the drift? I would stay here again any day. Oh, and the showers had great flow.
GGuest UserThis hotel has very good service and convenient location. There are many snacks downstairs, the security is relatively high, and the police station is on the side. Very good value for backpackers
