Tuncurry Beach Motel

Booked our Xmas break in September 2024 and paid deposit 1 day before arriving we get email stating booking cancelled and cancellation fee of $205 Partner called motel and had the most rudest person who didn't care and advised room has now been booked out to someone else at a higher rate. Motel has refused to refund our deposit when we didn't cancel our booking. Christmas Holidays ruined by this place. So now they have our deposit and made more money by booking room out at a higher rate. Social media isn't good for any business either is consumer affairs. I visit this place face to face to demand a refund or this will be taken further. I am absolutely discussed in the we were spoken to and treated.

No undercover parking , however vehicle parking spots were directly in front of room, were well line marked and large enough so doors could be fully opened without fear of hitting car along side. Rooms were very clean, good toiletries provided and tea,coffee and biscuits were of a good quality. The mattress had seen better days , it felt like there was only a sheet covering the innersprings, and was not supportive or comfortable for two people, resulting in rolling inwards, so we ended up topping and tailing either end of the be, we did not sleep well. Okay for 1 night!

We started staying at the Tuncurry Beach motel when it was called the Tuncurry Sunset motel - has always been owned by the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club and 14 years ago when we first started staying loved our time there - over the years some managers came and went and sadly the motel fell into a sad state of management - we heard that there was new managers and have just returned from a 3 night stay and once again had a great time the rooms have are back to a good state very comfortable beds all one needs in a motel is provided and more with microwave and crockery/cutlery as well as the usual motel basics - new air-cons - lovely pool and bbq area and extremely helpful managers who are interested in their guests and their comfort - so happy that this motel is back to what it used to be and am looking forward to a return stay in the next month - club member also receive a discount on accommodation apart from the discount on food and drink at the Club

If you only want to stay one night then I suggest you don't bother trying to get a room here. As we were informed by a staff member, you 'one nighters' are too much trouble and expense in servicing the room for one night, as 'we'd have to employ more staff'. Sorry, but if you're in the motel business then 'one-nighters' are a big part of your business. In the current economic climate I'm surprised this establishment can afford to turn people away despite having vacancies. Throughout over 35 years of travelling domestically and internationally I've never once been made to feel that a request for a room for one night was a problem in any way. I know where not to stay next time we're in this area.
