We are leaving in the morning and wanted to report on our 10 night trip to GBP Tulum. First off, the staff is amazing. Rosalia and Jorge at The Truck particularly made our trip with their attention and personality. We hope to see them again one day. Jesus and Fredy specifically stood out at the buffet. This resort is perfect for kids of all ages. The water park area is superb and very well monitored. The kids club, though we did not partake in, looked very fun. The room, though updated recently, is showing a bit of wear but was always well cleaned by the staff. Mini bar restocked daily. A tip and a note for what you prefer goes a long way. We stayed in a two room suite which was amazing for a family of four. The food was very good and we specifically liked the Thali Indian restaurant. The Tequila Mexican would be our second choice. Dinner buffet was always full of quality choices. We enjoyed the nightly music by the pool. We did not get to experience the shows though as our kids sleep before they start. There was next to no sea**** on the beach during our time. It was beautiful but rocky in sections. Bring water shoes. My only complaints would be as follows: 1) The area by the kids water park at Tulum has a very slippery section by the transition from the larger kids area pool and the Vama fun area. You will see it marked with caution tape but they expanded the tape while we were there. I would recommend some etching of the concrete as it’s noticeably much more slick than the other pieces of concrete. 2) Play more local music during the day! We would have loved some Mexican, Latin, Spanish or Reggaeton music through the speakers but very rarely heard any. The playlist was a bit of a disappointment with bad pop music. We resorted to playing our own music. Please showcase local music! Hoping our next visit is not too far off. Thanks again to all staff.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Nerea for 3 nights in the middle of September 2023. We rented a car and drove from the Cancun airport to Tulum, which took about 1.5 hours. If you plan to drive yourself, familiarize yourself with the location of the hotel because there is no signage off the main highway and it's likely your cell phone wifi won't work. The hotel is chic, peaceful, and exclusive. We felt like the only ones there, even though the hotel was probably at half occupancy. Isabel at the front desk welcomed us and made us feel at home. She gave us a very thorough tour of the property and our room (plus we got delicious a non-alcoholic welcome drink!) Our room had a partial ocean-view and was above the pool. Pretty quiet, although we did hear a little foot traffic from the room directly above us. The bed was comfortable, however something was a little off-balance, meaning every time I flipped around while laying down, it made a noise. Again, not bad enough for me to say anything, but I'm really easy-going so it may be more of an issue for others. There's not a ton of privacy between the bathroom and the bedroom area. Personally, I didn't mind this. But my boyfriend would have liked to keep a little more ”mystery.” LOVED the shower. Didn't use the tub, but it looked relaxing. The lotion they stock in the room is really nice. And double sinks!! A must, in my opinion. The room has a mini bar with some water, soft drinks, and a few beers and can be re-stocked each day if you'd like. Take advantage of it!! They include breakfast with your stay, which is a nice touch and yummy. The beach is small but again, super private which I loved. The sea**** during our stay was not bad at all. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the complimentary kayaks one day. THE BEST PART is that there is a cenote within walking distance of the hotel! Literally, a 3 minute walk down the road. It's $10 to access it, probably more if you want snorkel gear (we did not.) My advice to the hotel is strike a deal with the people who operate the cenote and offer complimentary access for your guests for the duration of their stay. We didn't bring any pesos with us (rookie mistake) but luckily the front desk will exchange up to $60/day during your stay. I think they had an exchange rate of $16. The only con (and it's likely not a con for everyone) is that the location of the hotel is about 30 minutes from the Hotel Zone where all of the beach clubs & trendy restaurants are. Luckily, we had a car and could avoid what I imagine are massively expensive taxi rides. We drove to the hotel zone twice and into city center multiple times (city center is only about 15 min away.) Driving to/around the hotel zone is insane and I can't imagine what it's like in high season. If the party vibe is your thing, stay in the hotel zone so that you don't have to really drive anywhere. If you want a calm and peaceful stay in Tulum, I can't imagine a better place to do it than Nerea. It was my hands-dow

Zona Hotelera
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were stunning with amazing views. The staff were lovely, especially Frida who was incredibly helpful. I felt like I was in a movie with how stunning our room was - we had an ocean view with a balcony pool and access path to the beach / beach club. The bed was very comfortable and the double shower was really good. I loved that the hotel had a small gym, equiped with modern facilities. The hotel also has so many lovely small touches like welcome cocktails, good night desserts, “good morning” messages in the sand outside your room and fresh fruit ice blocks provided at the beach club. I feel there needs to be more transparency with the service charge on the bills - I didn’t realised until a few days into our stay that there was a further section to the bills we were signing that was covered by the booklet they present you with. The bill should be shown in full, or the total placed above where you sign. Whilst the staff were lovely, we often had items missing from our breakfast each morning. The breakfast is also quite small with 1 x serving of yogurt between two. It would be great if the pool could be cleaned during the stay, or some jets put into the pools to move the water around and into the filter. At current the water is stagnant and doesn’t get filtered and a lot of things fly into the pool from the garden. Whist this seems small, when you are paying the price you are for the hotel, these small things should be addressed.

We had a great time! Plenty of activities to do in plenty of things to see oh just a wonderful location. My only complaint is I was in Kassav four and the ice machine was never repaired the week I was there. I have to make that statement because it’s such an inconvenience to go to the other castles or qualifies so it’s all a complaint,

I signed in with an old email just so that I could write another review exclusively about yoga at Wakax! Do not miss the morning yoga class even if you aren’t a yogi in normal life! The studio is immaculate and the instructors are just incredible. On my first trip, I took a couple classes with Omar. He led us in Yin style yoga, which truly transported me. Towards the end he treated us to a sound bath and finger/hand massage with vetiver essential oil. I bought some when I arrived home so I could recall this wonderful experience. The most incredible yoga experience on my second trip was with Adrianna! I loved her. She incorporates a few different styles of yoga, but what was so special was the way she taps into her deep spiritual wisdom and intuition from her practice as a Mayan spiritual guide. I would have loved to do Temezcal with her, but ran out of time (next time!). It’s difficult to capture in words, but her practice is so loving and intuitive. There were a lot of somatic elements and I experienced a deep release of emotion that actually brought me to tears (not weeping but the good kind of happy tears) it was so good and beautiful. At the end, she also gave us a divine sound bath. I spoke with her afterwards and thanked her, because it truly was a gift. Speaking with her, it was immediately clear that she lives in line her practice. She is a very present and warm person. Even in our brief but meaningful interaction, I felt seen and loved as a fellow human. Wakax found a gem!
