When we first arrived we noticed the sheets and towels were not clean. There were orange/red stains in the sheets and towels. There was no blow dryer or iron in the room. We had a coffee maker but no coffee. Also, the shower was very cold. We requested that someone look at the shower and they never fixed it. We stayed there for 5 nights and had to shower in cold water. We also noticed on the first day that the pool was not cleaned so we did not go swimming. They later told us on the third day that the pool was closed. Lastly, there were a lot mosquitos inside our room. It was unbearable to say the least. We had to spray ourselves every night before we went to bed. Overall, we did not have the best experience at Hotel Casa Tortuga. The park was great, but not the hotel. Would not recommend you stay here.

This hotel was the worst part of the entire trip. Infested with mosquitoes. The water was either extremely hot or extremely cold. The reception desk was nearly impossible to reach. Took them two days to bring a dryer and iron to the room. There was no safe to keep our important items. There was no microwave had to use the employee break room microwave to reheat food. Was asked to put our used toilet paper in the trash can. The blankets had stains on them. There were no available wash cloths. The pool was dirty, filled with leaves. Then at check out they added charges for stains previously mentioned. Typically hotel refresh water bottles coffee etc. they never gave additional water bottles. There was a coffee machine with no coffee, no filters no coffee mug. This was an awful experience and would not recommend.

Please don’t book this hotel I have the hotel but when I go to the room back door doesn’t lock I mention to the office the says 15 minutes he fixed after 10 minutes later he says I can’t fixed I ask him refund he don’t want to do that and he told me upgrade better room extra money he charged me $75 and I go the another room . The bedroom window is not lock night time nobody on the office you can’t contact them and very scary I left the hotel and call taxi and and I left the room I wasted my money time he should refund horrible place ******* and other booking services please remove from website to this hotel

This place was 10/10 for us! My family and I were excited about this vacation and to be honest, this place exceeded our expectations. It was affordable, and all of the staff were very nice people! I'd definitely recommend going. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Concept but Not Ready for Guests
We really wanted to love Hotel Casa Tortuga—but our experience was disappointing. Our taxi driver had trouble finding it and had to stop to ask for directions. When we arrived, reception was closed. We had to call a number posted outside and wait while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.
When someone finally arrived, he didn’t speak English, though he did call someone who could help over the phone, which we appreciated. He took us to our room, which was unbearably hot. We turned on the AC and went to grab dinner. We were told the restaurant around the corner served until 7, but when we arrived at 6:35, they said the kitchen was already closed.
We returned to a still hot room—hungry, sweating, and covered in mosquito bites. At that point, we decided to find another place to stay. Thankfully, the English speaker was responsive via WhatsApp and helped us get a taxi.
We didn’t even mind losing the money on the hotel and taxi—we were just relieved to leave. With better communication and guest care, this place could be a great stay. But for now, it’s not a place I’d recommend.

The room we had was great! It was super big and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The location is very close to Xel-Ha and just a short drive to Tulum.
