Beautiful and quiet boutique hotel on the beach

Wonderful experience at Xela Tulum for the first half of my trip. I wish I had spent the entire stay there. I would recommend the hotel for a quiet, comfortable getaway without hesitation. I traveled with a friend. We stayed in the Palmas room (an upper garden view room). It was extremely clean; the entire place was spotless from top to bottom. It felt fresh, inviting, and thoughtfully put together without being overly styled. Just perfect! The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Blackout curtains helped ensure a perfect night’s rest. The air conditioning worked beautifully without being noisy. Huge plus! Room amenities included everything I needed: a safe, plenty of outlets, and a large water jug that was replenished as needed. A hair dryer was provided (though the cord was a bit short, it got the job done). The Wi-Fi was very reliable. The bathroom featured a nice rain shower with solid water pressure, and the toiletries provided were good quality. I appreciated that everything felt clean and in great condition. The restaurant on-site was excellent, with an outstanding breakfast each morning. Breakfast was included, but I would have eaten there every day anyway. We had dinner there one evening, and it was very good as well. The only downside was that the wine list was a bit price but that seemed to be common throughout Tulum. A change from the last time I was in Tulum (~ 5 years ago). The property grounds were peaceful and beautifully kept. The garden view from the upper rooms was especially lovely. Initially, I was bummed I couldn't get a sea view, but they had done such a great job with the garden views that it didn’t make a difference. Actually, the privacy of the garden view was a bonus! The hotel was also incredibly quiet (no beach clubs nearby) making it ideal for relaxation. The beach furniture was comfortable. Most of the loungers were doubles; I personally prefer individual options, but comfort was key, and they checked that box too. The staff were outstanding across the board: warm, attentive, and always ready to help, but never overly attentive. The owners were present during our stay, and their friendliness and involvement added to the experience. A couple of notes: this hotel is best suited for couples, as there are no two-bed room options for singles or friends traveling together. Even so, I have every intention of staying there the next time I go to Tulum, whether traveling solo or with a friend. Since we were staying in Tulum for a few more days, we were invited back later in the week for an art installation, and I was certain the lobby area had already reached perfection; I was happily mistaken. The owners introduced graceful, flowing room dividers that added another layer of beauty and originality to the space. Functional and beautiful! Overall, this is a beautifully run, relaxing, and impeccably clean property with wonderful service, excellent food, and truly comfortable rooms. I will stay here again.

I visited Tulum with a friend, my first time in Mexico. We had a lovely experience at Xela. Every detail is carefully executed, the staff is friendly and endlessly helpful, food and drinks excellent, and the beachfront view was spectacular. I would recommend Xela for couples, friends, or solo travelers.

Great boutique hotel. The service was excellent. Small hotel on the beach. Views from some rooms are fantastic. Strong recommend.

Small hotel with a superb location on the beach. Everything with a beautiful design touch and excellent and friendly staff. Will definitely stay there again if I visit Tulum

The staff at Xela Tulum were all incredible; kind, attentive, and joyful! The property is gorgeous and the food was world class!! Thank you for such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay!
