Courtyard Seattle Sea-Tac Area

We were unable to drive to our house due to an icy hill, so we stayed a night at the Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac Area. We booked the room through a booking platform and chose the option that included prepaid parking. Imagine our surprise when the hotel charged us for parking anyway — and for two days, since we were there on both sides of midnight. I wrote to Marriott HQ about this and was told someone would be getting in touch. I'm still waiting. Finally, I wrote again. This time they totally ignored my email. DO NOT CHOOSE THE FREE PARKING OPTION. The hotel also socked us for $100 because we brought our dog. (A much better hotel where we just stayed charged a $15 dog fee.) The room was spartan (to say the least) and offered no amenities. When we asked about a microwave, they brought an ancient, decrepit model to our room. We could have heated our coffee faster with a flashlight. Free breakfast? Apparently not when you're spending a mere $239 (plus the dog fee). Rather than pay the outrageous prices at the on-site restaurant, we got a fine breakfast at the nearby Panera Bread. The one bright spot was the front-desk staff, who were friendly and seemed to care about the customers (and their dogs). But everything else seemed to deliver this message: ”We're here for one purpose — to separate you from as much of your money as we possibly can. And give you very little in return.” There are many other hotels in the Tukwila area, including some new ones that look very promising. I'd look into those before I'd ever consider coming to this one.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle Tacoma Int'l. Airport-Tukwila

Positives - room was very spacious and the property was located close to shopping and dining as well as the airport. Nice pool area and outside seating area near grill. Laundry facility had four washers and dryers that accepted credit cards as payment. Super helpful! Negatives - Our room was right next to railroad tracks that had freight trains passing at all hours. It definitely interrupted our sleep. We found spiders and crickets in one of the bathrooms. The shower stall was a really stupid design. The shower head pointed at the door so you had to move it off to the side until the water came to temperature and you could get in. You couldn't move it back once you were in because the shower door didn't stay closed. Worst/cheapest design I have ever seen! Didn't care for the complimentary breakfast. Hot foods (eggs, potatoes, sausage) were prepared with a southwest flair so too spicy for us. Why not serve plain and have hot sauces available to add for those that wish to use it? Not much of a selection of other items to choose from either.

Very close to the airport, there is a free shuttle bus from the airport. It is close to the south center shopping mall. It takes ten minutes to walk. There is a restaurant in the mall. It is especially recommended that a fried chicken is delicious, as well as rice and noodles.

Maybe one of the hotels that offer room services during your stay - so many just don’t do it anymore even though we are paying so much more - plus breakfast is awsome with good quality of food - except for frozen strawberries and pineapple - why? Make no sense - but overall berry satisfy with their services
Hampton Inn Seattle-Southcenter

First of all, the name of this Hampton Inn is a bit misleading – the property is actually located in the city of Tukwila, about a mile from the upscale Westfield Southcenter Mall. To be fair, it is also quite close to the southern border of Seattle. I stayed here four nights during a business trip to the area in early August 2022. As a frequent business traveler, I’ve stayed at numerous Hampton Inns around the United States, and I must admit that I was a little concerned when I first entered. This is definitely an older property in need of a more modern facelift. When I walked into my room, everything seemed dark; the carpet was dark, the furniture was dark and the wallpaper was dark. Because of that, I felt like the room needed more lighting, other than the small bathroom. I was beginning to think that this might be a very long four nights. However, during the course of my stay the hotel began to win me over; my room may have had 90s-era décor, but it was very functional. The king bed was comfortable and everything in the room (lights, air conditioning, plumbing, HDTV, etc.) worked as it was supposed to. The work station in the room was more than adequate. There were also enough electrical outlets to charge my electronic devices. The common areas, though dated, were clean and in good condition. Both check-in and check-out were friendly and efficient. The breakfast room was one of the largest that I’d seen in a Hampton and had plenty of seating. The complimentary breakfast featured a number of hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and waffles. While the hotel’s need for a facelift prevents me from giving it a glowing review, the service and functionality found at the Hampton Inn Seattle Southcenter can enable both the business and leisure traveler to have a perfectly fine stay there.
