I visited the Lion a few times when visiting Tudweiliog. It is the height of the season, I had no trouble parking & was made to feel at home right away. I had the coffee & cake deal (£5) yummy ! Also a beautifully presented chicken pie, which went above and beyond what I expect. The Sunday Carvery last Sunday 21.7.24 was exceptional, as I have experienced very similar in Aberdaron & this one has so much variety. Loved it & ate to much. The Staff in the lounge bar were so welcoming & friendly & this area is more touristy & caters for everyone. The Bar is traditional pub bar & Welsh is spoken, the staff are fine & there are games of Darts in the corner. A very good establishment who work very hard. Diolch.

Myself and a buddy stopped for a much needed drink whilst doing the Snowdonia 360 on Motorbikes. The atmosphere in the bar changed as we walked in (bear in mind he’s 50 and I’m 62 and we are decent and law abiding adults, not 1% and we were riding properly silenced “adventure” bikes) and the ‘locals’ stared at us. We waited for the Barman to finish serving the customer in front of us, when another local barfed in from behind us and ordered a Guinness in Welsh. He then proceeded to have a conversation with the barman, in Welsh, and we were totally ignored whilst he was served with a Whisky too. In the end we turned round and left, shocked by the way we were ignored and the Barstaff & locals were living up to the historical perception of the Welsh being so insular. In the end we stopped at LlanfairPG and the Penhros Arms and had a really refreshing drink and a wonderful conversation with the villagers who took the time to explain all about the village name and how to say it. Restored our faith in human nature.

Finally, I get back to Tudweiliog after 15 years! After 15 years I was overjoyed to get back, and I just HAD to stay at The Lion, the home of a lot of misspent nights in my younger days! We had a very warm welcome, a superbly cooked evening dinner and breakfast. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and we slept like a dream! Thank you so much!!

We have just got back from a few nights at the Lion, nothing bad to say about the place. Gill and all the staff were so friendly and attentive to our needs, rooms lovely and clean and a breakfast to die for. Evening meals lovely and very reasonable, warm pork scratchings available from the bar, what’s not too like.

Just got back from a fabulous family camping trip down to Tudweilliog. Came here for food on sunday night, receptionist was friendly and politely explained the hour and quarter wait for food, which we expected with it being a busy bank holiday weekend. The food was delicious, we all enjoyed every meal we had, will deffinetely visit again. The only downfall was the miserable older lady working behind the bar, it was like she had the people she wanted to serve and didn't smile once!! And she was too busy finding other things to do instead of serving sometimes. Such a shame. But thank you for making our visit pleasant otherwise

We had an excellent stay here in room 4 on a wet& wild November night!. Staff were helpful and friendly our room was super cosy and comfortable &beautifully refurbished as is the rest of the hotel very tastefully done ,in Keeping with the age of the building. Tea and coffee, hairdryer, toiletries all supplied, feather duvet and pillows ,what more could we ask for?!.. oh, and a sea view once the sun came out Sunday morning!. Great full cooked breakfast, served by the lovely Jill. Fabulous place for a winter weekend break, surrounded by empty beaches& stunning coastal or hill walking routes. Matthew& Mari, and team have done a brilliant job!.
