Best Western Discovery Inn

I’m a Best Western rewards member so try and stay at their hotels when I can. This hotel was one of the most disappointing. I was traveling with two cats so I was put in a “pet friendly” room. As soon as I walked in, although the floors are tiled, I could smell urine in the bathroom area. The chair was all scratched up, and there were snags on the curtains. I could tell there was a plastic mattress cover on the bed, which crinkled every time I rolled over. I would hope the rooms in the main hotel were in better shape. On the positive side, the front desk was very friendly when I checked in and the breakfast buffet was nicely set up and stocked. The room was large with a fenced outdoor patio so if you’re traveling with dogs, it might be a good place to stay.
Motel 6 Tucumcari, NM

The hotel is right next to the road. It is very convenient. The bathroom in the room is not equipped with sanitary products. The bathroom area is very small. There is no refrigerator and microwave oven, but the price is still cheap.
Econo Lodge Tucumcari Route 66

Staff were kind and accommodating! I enjoyed our stay and would return if I was passing through the area. I was able to get a lot of work done in the morning on their wifi which was such a relief! They are remodeling but it didn't affect the quality of the stay whatsoever.
Budget Inn

This will be our third time staying here and once again got a great room. Clean and comfortable. Total cost for the two of us with taxes was $51. At this price I am not looking for Hampton Inn amenities. We pack our own toiletries, have Kleenex, they provide soap and toilet paper, wife packs a hair dryer, and have a Roku stick to watch TV. We love this place because we stop here on our way to AZ. We pull up to our room, bring our overnight stuff in, six feet from our car, walk across the street to the Pow Wow Restaurant/Lizard Lounge for dinner and adult beverages, walk back, and then on the road again in the morning. Two trips next year to AZ and this will again be our stopping point along the way.
Super 8 by Wyndham Tucumcari

We were extremely disappointed in the condition of the room. We were traveling cross country and need a room for an overnight stopover. We reserved a room at this Super 8 because it was a modest priced basic room affiliated with Wyndham. The bathroom was dirty: 1. A hand towel had makeup or blood stains on it and the others not much better - When I requested fresh towels, I was told they didn't have any because all the rooms were occupied. They didn't have anyone to clean the room that night or any supplies we could use to do it ourselves. 2. The tub/shower had mold where the wall met the tub and the tub looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. - We didn't shower that night. 3. The floor was filthy The bedspread had several holes burned in it It appeared they were doing some wall repairs in the bathroom because there were a couple of holes badly patched and not painted. Overall the hotel appears poorly maintained as we saw a couple of windows that had white haze in the glass indicating moisture between the panes. The carpets need more frequent shampooing. We weren't looking for a fancy, high end hotel, just a basic clean room to spend the night. We didn't get that. We would have moved, except we were exhausted. After making a few calls, we couldn't find a room at the nearby hotels.
Rodeway Inn

When I asked Maps on phone for directions I was told the motel was “permanently closed” although I had made reservations weeks before. Fortunately the motel is open but someone needs to address this. Our one night stay was pleasant. Some furniture was a bit worn but all was clean and there were more amenities than we expected. Grounds were good for our dogs. Desk clerk was very nice. If ever again in Tucumcari we’d have no problem staying here.
