Aloita Resort & Spa

A simply incredible experience. Best surf holiday, and quite possible to best overall holiday we’ve ever been on. The resort is managed by Aaron and Kerry, who along with the team are extremely welcoming, knowledgable and a good laugh along the way. From taking you to the great surf spots, leading you through yoga sessions and generally helping out wherever you need, they’re extremely additive to the trip. We left feeling as though we’d made old friends even though it had only been a week. It is after all a surf resort, and while there is plenty to do outside of surfing, the surf itself is excellent. My wife and I weren’t amazing by any stretch, but with Aaron taking us out every day, and the surf guide River showing us how it’s done on the waves made it great fun and a big laugh every day. When there aren’t waves you can do a bit of snorkelling or catch a massage (and a bunch of other things that we didn’t get to). The food is also surprisingly excellent. Being a remote island we weren’t expecting much, but the staff make varied and excellent meals every day. Always served with a smile on their face they create a great atmosphere. Of course if you want a private week talking to no one you can have that (the island is extraordinarily beautiful), but we always like interacting with people and truly had a spectacular time with Aaron, Kerry, River and the other guests. No taste like a killer cocktail made with swag by Wilson, the island bartender (and spear fisherman!) or playing a pathetically bad game of pool before dinner while hearing the ocean pitter patter in the background. 10/10. If you’re on the fence, book - this crew is still there next season!

The place is absolutely amazing, very calm, the beach is very quiet, perfect place to relax and surf or do activities. The food is amazing, abundant, best quality and healthy. The people who work there are the best host you could ever ask for.

Amazing location, wonderful staff and great food. Aolita Resort was the perfect surf and relaxation break. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The surf guides (special shout-out to Zala) and boat captains (special shout-out to Captain Agus) made sure we got waves everyday. The other guests were all great as well.

The bungalow was decorated with very good taste and with direct views of the beach, delicious and healthy food and good surfing spots around. Can’t forget to mention Putu (the therapist), she gave me one the best massages ever!! Everything in Aloita was just perfect and I can’t wait to come back soon !

We absolutely loved our time at Aloita. We had great waves, amazing food, and the surf guide and resort manager were just incredible. We've already started planning our trip back! The rooms were perfect. The air conditioning worked really well, bathroom was clean and had hot water, and there was plenty of space for all of our things. Plus, a mini fridge with snacks and drinks. We came for the surf (which was great!) but we also ended up doing a lot of snorkeling and yoga. Other guests really enjoyed paddle boarding and spear fishing. The surf guide was really knowledgeable and made sure we had an amazing, safe, and exciting experience. We were able to find longboard and short board waves which was super important for us. The food was incredible - this is some of the best food I've had in Indonesia.

Just amazing! Beautiful place - well maintained - The personnel is great and always trying to please you! The food is super good! Cannot complain - looking forward to going back in 2024. Great place for surfers and non-surfers as well.

I don’t think anything I can write will explain just how much we love it here. This was our second time and we loved it even more this time. All the staff are just incredible and so helpful and friendly. They make you feel like family and made the trip even better. Aloita its self is just beautiful, from the accommodations to the games room, it is all so tastefully done and just perfect. The food is delicious and so healthy, I actually came home feeling like I’d been on a health retreat mentally and physically . Awesome fun waves with a great variety. There is nothing quite like sitting on an island and hearing no noise, no traffic with a view that is just breathtaking. Thank you to everyone that works there, we are so grateful and feel very lucky to have found Aloita.

Our 8-day stay at the Aloita resort was truly exceptional. Situated in a paradise on Earth, the resort was impeccably managed by a remarkable staff. We felt like a part of a large family, with a perfect mix of sports, relaxation, yoga, delicious cuisine, and breathtaking scenery. We already miss it, and we hope to return soon. Thanks to Rok and the entire Aloita team for making our stay unforgettable!

The island itself is beautiful, but the "resort" if you can call it that, is completely run down. Not sure what one pay the high rate for tbh, not worth more than maybe half, if that. Food is basic, if you don't get up at 6:30, don't expect there to be anything left of breakfast, they don't do refills of juices/fruit etc. Coffee is terrible, and does not provide the plant based options that was confirmed before arriving. Drinks are super overprices and horrible, either no alcohol due to "police raids" as they call it, so you pay European prices for basically a soda, as that's the mix of they're so called pro drinks. Transfer package is needed, but it is extremely unorganised, didn't get any info and yes, you DO have to drag your own luggage around despite what they promise you - don't even offer you a water upon arrival. The images I'm adding speak for themselves, not worth the price - cleanliness is disgusting, spiderwebs and hairs everywhere, broken glass/furniture/and equipment as well as stains everywhere, all sheets/curtains inside and outside, gross.
