After one night we left quite disappointed.Though they had tried to catch up on things but too much had happened before that. When you book a lodge from a distance you have to rely on the website and reviews. Unfortunately both didn't really live up to the standards found on site. On arrival it already started when we saw the peeled of sign board at the entrance....the receptionist who could not even advice on activities. On arrival in the room you immediately notice that the materials used are very basic, equally matched by poor installation skills. The location of the tents is nice with the river view with regular wildlife visits. There're even a few crocodiles which is always nice to experience. Our experience at the restaurant on arrival was also quite poor. We just wanted a quick bite. At the first glance it look quite attractive...till the waitress announced that there was only chicken with french fries...disappointing....Even more when we got the chicken....and the soggy fries.... Where I want to compliment them for is the way they handled our disappointment and refunded in full our second night stay. Even proposing to upgrade us in their Voi Wildlife lodge at the same rate. It's a place with a lot of potential but it really needs a good brainstorming, an upgrade and a lot of TLC.

Exclusive settled along and above the Tsavo River, Man Eaters is a place for people who love a secluded stay. There is exactly nothing around but wildlife and the river (and the old train station). The restaurant: sometimes you can choose from a little menu, sometimes they serve food from the buffet (depending how many guests are at this place). There is a Pizza inside the Camps boundaries (okay...there is not a real boundary or a a fence...), but this was not operating while we stayed here due to the lack of tourists at this time. The food is really good, nothing real spectacular but really good. The Staff: Always friendly and always helpful. Fun Fact: they want you to be guarded to you your room (tent) because there might bei wild animals around. The Rooms/ Tents: they offer everything that is needed. Shower, toilet, fan, mosquito net, a little, private terrace above the Tsavo river. Everything is kept as clean as possible. Of course there are some bugs and beetles around. Especially after rain you might see and feel a lot of them. But the rooms are save! The setting: fantstic situatted along the Tsavon River with many nice views into the wild. Game drives: The organise different types of game drives. Half day. Full day. morning and evening drives. Tsavo East an West. It's up to you and your budget.

The place has a beautiful scenery and the tents are spacious and clean . The only area to improve is that the pool was not clean as it was green in color with small insects in therefore we did not swim . The menu can be improved in variety as its ala r carte and finally a kids area would work magic for them .

This place is value for money as it’s just in between tsavo east and west parks. We spent the 3 days visiting both parks using their vehicles. It was right next to the river so we were able sit on our balconies listening to nature - running waters, birds chirping Manager was always checking on us and offering options/solutions to some of our feedback raised. We appreciated the fast turn over. They also offered free walking tours around the old train station, by the river side etc. Highly recommended Some recommendations 1. Food menu change - after 2 days the food started to taste the same 2. Room was really hot in the evenings - there was a fan but not sufficient considering I’m from the tropics and I already found it really hot. An additional standing fan would be helpful

Loved the service of the team, loved the location and the tents were superb! Johnstone took us for daily walks around the camp so we could see and re-live the Tsavo train station of old. Everyday we woke up to magnificent sights and sounds by the river. We will definitely go back.

Peaceful riverside setting, the most fabulous service from the Maneaters Team just as perfect as their sister hotel Voi Wildlife - 3 nights staying in Tent 7 with my 2 boys watching the animals from our veranda was quite a fabulous experience - saw crocodile, elephant, leopard, various birds. Security took us for a walk along the river and we saw hippo and baby crocodile, we walked to the old station - the history of Maneaters is quite fascinating. All meals were very well prepared especially the various cakes. The swimming pool was so clean and a welcome from the heat, the restaurant overlooking the river and the bar area a perfect setting to watch the sun set whilst listening to the animals rustling about, would we return? - oh yes - just waiting for flight times next April and we will be reserve another 3 nights

Officially, Man Eaters Camp is situated just beyond the borders of Tsavo, but you still find yourself immersed in the heart of the wilderness. From our tent's balcony, we were treated to the sight of elephants, monkeys, and even a hippo. It truly boasts the most breathtaking balcony view EVER :-) The property isn’t fenced (which, in this context, makes the camp's name somewhat audacious), but we felt entirely safe throughout our entire stay.
If you're visiting Tsavo to immerse yourself in the wonders of wildlife, this is undoubtedly the place to stay. The rooms are more budget-friendly than lodges within the park, despite being just a 15-minute ride from the park's entrance gate. The camp is impeccably maintained by its welcoming staff. The safari tents are both luxurious and spotlessly clean, the restaurant serves delicious food, and the swimming pool is a delightful treat after a dusty game drive. Our children were particularly fond of the ping pong and pool tables. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.
