Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

View is nice from main lobby and restaurant, pool is nice. Rooms are old and service poor.

Good lodge, location, environment

Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge was the 2nd out of 3 lodges we stayed at during our Safari. Upon arrival we were greeted again by the friendliest most humble staff I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet on any of our travels to many different countries, nothing is to much trouble. We were given ice cold wet menthol flannels to refresh our faces and hands after being out in the bush spotting the wildlife. We walked through the open plan reception into the restaurant area and onto the terrace when I was in total awe of what was in front of my eyes, the most breathtaking view, landscape, mountains with Kilimanjaro in the backdrop to the left, in front of the terrace is a watering hole. The terrace is an amazing place to sit, relax with a beer, and reminisce of the days encounters with the most beautiful creatures on earth. Right in front of your eyes are elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas and many many other incredible creatures. Our room was stunning with a large bathroom, his and hers basins, walk in shower, a large king size bed with moscato net, a sofa looking through the French doors onto our balcony, the large balcony with unspoiled views of the same views from the terrace, We sat on the balcony after dinner and again just watched in awe as the wildlife just wandered past “pole pole” style. The food again was incredible and catered for every taste and plentiful, if you wanted more as I did it was there for the taking. Swimming pool was a welcome sight and a great place to cool off after a day in the bush. 3 things that will stay with my memories of Kilaguni Serena lodge forever, a life changing experience was the awe inspiring panoramic views from the terrace and balconies, the experience of seeing 2 rhinos together just as we drove out of the lodge, and the welcoming staff. The logistics of making this place run as smooth as clockwork in the middle of absolutely nowhere is incredible, Well done to all at Kilaguni Serena for adding to a life experience I will never ever forget, thank you.

Stayed here for 1 night and was so sad it was only 1 night! The view from the bar was just next level! Watering hole right there, with so many visitors! The food was good, the staff were friendly & helpful. The rooms were stunning! And at night we sat on our terrace with a glass of wine watching the watering hole for hours, elephants, zebras, hyenas, birds, so much activity! Loved listening to the safari surround sound with a wine. A stunning location, just wish we’d had more time here!

This place is out of this world. Very Btitish colonial style with watered green gardens. The rooms, restzurznt and bar all gave view over the waterhole. We saw mainlt zebras, buffalos and elephants. Very good choice at buffet and a pasta station where you choose your own ingrediants. Personnel adorable and helpful. Loved this hotel. Only regret is that we didn',t see the Léopards. Highly recommend.

This is an amazing lodge with all rooms and the restaurant overlooking the watering hole. Upn arrival, it was a wow moment when walking into the reception as the whole of the rear of the building is open with amazing views of the mountains and watering hole. The rooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable with an amazing view of the watering hole. The restaurant served a good variety of hot and cold food buffet style. All staff were very helpful and friendly. This is a good place to stay to just watch the amazing wildlife coming and going from the watering hole. Already booke dfor additional nights on next years safari.
