We arrived very tired after travelling for nearly 24 hours , check in was very basic as was reception, not a great welcome feeling. We had breakfast straight away as we arrived at 8.00 am , breakfast was ok with a decent offering if cooked items and pancakes as well as fruit . We slept most of the day after eating and on waking realised we only had 1 bottle of water some of which we had drunk on arrival to last us till morning, I went to reception to ask for more till morning and was told each room only had 1 bottle per day. Really ! After thinking about it back in the room I found this hard yo beleive do I returned to reception to query this , eventually after 15 minutes of complaining to the guy he relented andcsaid he would send us another bottle to the room . Not a promising start , we're they really that tight they couldn't provide more water ? Anyway in summary, bad points , food choices very limited if you like meat , only ever 1 choice of meat with evening meal, 1 night was beef which was rarely cooked , another night was lamb which was mainly fat abd again barely cooked, after complaining to the restaurant manager Dan , who was very helpful and did his utmost to resolve this , I was served a lovely meal of steak and chips cooked to my liking by the chef. Tbh it never really improved despite Dan's efforts and was told off the record by a couple of members of staff it was all down to the management not allowing the catering staff to buy better ingredients down to costs. The rooms were in desperate need of upgrading and the restaurant was still looking like it hadn't been improved since the hotel opened in 1984 ! The whole hotel although only a 3 star is in desperate need of investment and is in several areas very scruffy and worn out , the paintwork is dirty especially on the banister handrails on the main staircase , see pics attached. Good points, fantastic beach and waterfront setting , the staff are a credit to the hotel a few of whom are very loyal and longserving but apparently do not receive the recognition they deserve, ie Dan & Malina in the restaurant. Overall we feel we were vastly overcharged for our 10 night all inclusive stay which was to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! I would definitely not recommend this hotel as value for money, there are much nicer hotels available on the island from what we heard whilst there.

This hotel was amazing! The staff were wonderful. Dan and Malina were attentive and very friendly. When we arrived they made a fuss of us for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The room was big, had a fridge and kettle large bathroom all immaculate. Cleaned daily and new towels everyday. The bar staff served the best cocktails 🍹 and soft drinks on tap. The beach at the hotel should get more credit, we travelled to many of the main public beaches around Mauritius and would say the hotel at the beach was better than most. White soft sand and amazing blue clear swimming area. My husband snorkels and just outside on the reef seen many species including lion fish and puffer fish. I am a very fussy eater I don’t like a lot of foods like fish, tomato, butter and sauces. However there was not one meal where I did not find something I could eat. The food was lovely and well cooked and if you were particularly fussy or kids they would make fries and chicken or steak. The breakfast was amazing great choice both continental and cooked breakfast as well as an egg station and pancake bit. Daytrips can be organised by the front desk and not too expensive. All in all I would highly recommend the Silver Beach to anyone looking for a relaxed experience. Thank you to everyone at Silver Beach for giving us the holiday of a lifetime.

Fabulous location, we had a garden view room on the ground floor, just a few meters from the beach. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, they clean the rooms every day and fresh towels too. The gardens are spotless and the beach is beautiful. Take some shoes when swimming in the sea, the coral is really sharp. Wonderful stay and would recommend

Perfectly positioned on a sandy beach, this was a gem of a trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, that you could overlook the odd niggle such as tired furniture in the room. The food was excellent and so beautifully presented. The restaurant team take great care of everyone, a huge thank you to Kavi for spoiling us on our anniversary. A memorable trip.

It is nice hotel for holiday in winter, it is cheap. The beach was near the hotel, beautiful and clean. The hotel pool was also maintained. We really appreciate the staff, who were always kind and smiling. The food was varied and very tasty. We took advantage of the hotel's excursions...by taxi around the island and a boat trip with diving and a tour of the waterfalls. I recommend.

We arrived at the hotel on 24th May and were staying for 10 days. The hotel it's self is clean and the staff are approachable and helpful. Food is good with a good selection and bar has a basic selection but satisfactory. Rooms are cleaned daily and they supply your room with fresh bottled water as needed and towels. We hired a car for 3 days through the hotel and by ordering it through the hotel it reduces the cost of the excess significantly. For 3 days it worked out at approx £120 for tge hire, very cheap indeed. Unfortunately, when we arrived the island was in the midst of a cyclone which is apparently very rare, we were just unlucky and because of the weather we were rather bored and spent a fair amount of time in our room when the weather wasn't great. The hotel advise not to feed the birds and stray dogs but despite the advice, we found some people were feeding the dogs and annoyingly the birds fly around the restaurant area at breakfast and lunch times, the staff will promptly remove your plates when u are finished to not give the birds too much opportunity but they will still flock to any unattended plates. Because of the weather we didn't get to enjoy the water activities. There is a fair amount of coral on the beaches and we found them better to wear beach shoes and you are a lot less conscious of what is under your feet. At various points along the beach we did find a lot of bottle tops and rubbish, which was a shame but not directly by the hotel. The entertainment is ok but gets a little repetitive at times. Generally it was a pleasant stay.

We stayed here for a spontaneous trip and found there was a lot to see in the hotels range! Great range to eat out or visit the beach or bars. The hotel is lovely, you can have great talks with the personnel and it’s very clean :) (The rooms have fridges and safes btw.)

We had a fantastic week at the Silver Beach Hotel in May 2024. Travelled as a family including 2 elderly parents. Starting from Reception to Kitchen/Restaurant Staff to HouseKeeping everyone took great care of us. Firstly the reception staff, Vishal, Sanjiv and Salim made arrangements for a wheelchair for my elderly mother and also an appropriate room for her ease of stay. In the restaurant, Malini and Ziad looked after us very well and it was such a pleasure to be in the company of such positive people. The chef Randir really looked after our needs as being vegetarian we had choice in the buffet menus but somewhat limited. He would arrange a little extra food items for our table. Night entertainment was relatively quiet. The beach was beautiful. Will definitely come back.

10 family’s members went to Silver Beach Hotel, best holidays we spend with family, Value for money, all inclusive drinks, simple but enough to enjoy the taste of rum, local beer, a few cocktails and fizzy drinks. The foods was delicious, thanks to the chef and staffs, all the waiters & waitresses was very friendly and Polite and happy to please all our requests. The entertainment group was enjoyable. The young man who clean my room 214 daily was amazing, the room was always spotless and such a polite person. The staffs on the enquiry desk was also very helpful with all our needs. The garden rooms was lovely and peaceful which what we all wanted, a nice peaceful holiday, there was no problem getting a beach lounger as there was always plenty. In all I do recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Thanks to all the staffs at Silver Beach Hotel.
