First class hotel from the minute we booked it to the day we left. The room was huge, every staff member was great. The food was excellent. It's great to have a breakfast freshly cooked, well done please do not change it. To all the staff members thank you for a great break.

Immaculate hotel and surrounding gardens, the food was phenomenal, greeted on reception with the warmest welcome. Dinner in Bisque was perhaps the best we’ve had in 10 years. The food was delicious, cooked to a high standard and we’re told sourced locally as possible. I’d be missing a trick if I didn’t mention our young waitress, Geo, who took her time to recognise our occasion, talk us through the menu- even helped us pick wine to compliment our meals… attentive, charming, professional. Excellent show Lochgreen, planning our next trip already!!!

Absolutely fabulous stay. What a superb hotel, staff and food. First time staying here but will definitely be back later in the year. Service rivals that at Turnberry which is high praise indeed. Hugely recommended. For a small supplement ask for room 37.

First class! Lovely informal welcome when we arrived, and same cosy informality when we left, making us feel really special. Lovely decor. Nice grounds. Huge yet cosy room, super-comfortable. Food was excellent, and other highly rated hotels could learn a thing or two about quality service from the team here. Can’t fault it, wouldn’t want to!

First of all I cannot fault the staff or the location as both were excellent as usual. We attended the Lochgreen House Hotel for lunch on Friday 14/2. I chose the Monkfish and prawn curry and my wife had escalope of pork. The curry had three inch sized pieces of monkfish and three prawns in a very small plate of a curry sauce, with a small bowl of rice. Disappointed is an understatement. The escalope of pork was a roll of pork and also unappealing.. I have stated at the beginning the location etc was excellent which is why I have written the review. The Lochgreen is usually so much better than what we were served ,having been there just before Christmas and it was excellent in every way, personally I think some one is tinkering to much with the menu .

My partner and I stopped here for two nights as part of a long weekend and in many ways wished we hadn't. While there were some good aspects to the stay, there were many that weren't. At check-in, the reception staff were very friendly (and friendly throughout), making us feel welcome and talking us through where everything was / what to do if we needed any assistance. Our room (while very spacious), had a bed that wouldn't be out of place in a prisoner-of-war camp. Other people have added detailed reviews of the beds here, but in short, its very hard and you can feel the springs throughout. This clearly is a known issue as when it was raised with the reception staff on check-out they simply stated 'ah', and then carried on with everything else. Attempting to redeem the room was a bathroom that had a large freestanding bath, and Sky TV in the bedroom (with a good selection of channels). Unfortunately there is very little in the way of soundproofing and so when other guests had finished their celebrations late in the evening we were woken up a few times by people in the corridoor (it happens at most hotels, so this is just something to be aware of). Moving to the bar, that in itself was also a mixed experience. Sitting in the main area on the first night gave us prompt service from two friendly members of staff, before being taken for food (more on that later). Trying this on the second night (this time sat closer to the malt room/bar) had us waiting for 15 minutes as staff walked by, before having to find a member of staff to serve us (as we wanted something to drink from there). After being told on the first day that there are always two members of staff who are familiar with the whiskys on offer / can provide guidance, being told that none of the bar staff that evening were familiar with the drinks and then being handed the list of what was available / being told 'here you go, pick something from this' wasn't impressive. Worse, after choosing three from the list and subsequently being told they didn't have them / come look for yourself and choose something from the shelf, it seemed more of a gimmic than something to be proud of. The restaurant was well-decorated and had friendly staff (both evenings), however while the staff were attentive / did ask multiple times how everything was, having two different waiters pour wine and manage to spill it down the side of the glass (subsequently staining the tablecloth) isn't something you would expect for a hotel like this. No comment was made about it either time (which also seemed odd given it was very visible), and if they read this review at some point, put a napkin (or similar) on the underside of the neck of the bottle as you pour (it ain't difficult). The food was also a mix sadly. The smoked salmon / prawn cocktail / scallops were all great / tasted delicious, while two identical steaks came out with one of them not being rested (with blood over the plate) while the other was well-done in places

Delicious afternoon tea served in a beautifully furnished room overlooking immaculate gardens. A front of house staff member showed us to our table but we were then left for 30 minutes without any approach from a member of staff to check on choice of drink, allergies etc - or simply to enquire why we were sitting there without any food or drink. Finally I had to go to the bar, wait in a queue then ask for someone to attend to us. The bar staff member was apologetic but a further 10 minutes ensued before the food arrived, so by then a fair chunk of our afternoon teatime had vanished, as had any sense of relaxation. The swift arrival of even a pot of tea before the food would have helped. The food was lovely but the occasion was clearly diminished by the length of time we had to wait for it.

Had a wonderful massage in this top class Spa. Relaxing and chilled followed by beautiful lunch in The Copper Beech bar. Stayed in a Premium deluxe room which is massive with a huge bathroom with stand alone bath which off course I made full use of. Wonderful dinner in The Bisque and lovely friendly staff. As always we really enjoyed our stay due to great staff, food and comfort
