Hotel Club Amigo Ancon

Second time at this hotel, but the first time in one of the side rooms away from the main hotel. Very nice,2 min from the beach. Food was ok,lots of fruit,eggs,not much ham,just the baloney type meat,chicken, rice,and more rice, fish. No toaster for breakfast! BYO OJ! The restaurant at the left side is nice so you don't have to change to go to lunch buffet. It is independent, so $$. Change U.S $ on the beach. $10 U.S=3000 pesos Decent lunch for 15$ us Ran out of coke,2 days,lots of beer. Mosquitoes killed me,on the beach. I didn't realize it. Good time, I'd go back Some ****s in ocean,don't worry. Dive center on site,daily dives,snorkeling

The hotel has had a make over and it looks fabulous ! Work is still in progress but it does not interfere with your stay. Our room was spotless everyday and we were given a bottle of water daily. There was no shortage of food, smaller buffet but several choices, you won't go hungry ! 24 Snack bar - Roli makes the best pizza,always smiling and pleasant. The Bar has many things to choose from was nice to see Ivan and the gang back ! Entertainment shows at night are good. If you are looking for day time Animation well it is lacking, animators are around but not alot happening. Hopefully the bingo, darts etc start up again! Special thanks to hotel Manager Lenyel for making Hectors birthday so special. This hotel is not a 3 star, I'd say a 4. If you contemplating booking, just do it you will not be disappointed. Fantastic day going hotel for tourists including athletes like me ( a acing cyclistt). Trinidad us a wonderful place to come and ride on asphr roads with scant car traffic, swim, eat excellent cuban food, enjoy Cuba with super friendly hotel staff Great ooms with balconies overlooking stunning beaches. Unpretentious and with a fun family atmosphere, swimming pools, bars and a beautiful beach. Marie-Helene Bermudez and Henry Hernandez at the hotel bar and her colleagues are wonderful people who speak great English.

Well worth it. Found this gem two weeks before March break was reluctant when I read the past reviews however decided to roll the dice and I'm so glad I did ! I would say my unit was a stones throw away from the beach but their are no stones to throw, just sand and blue water. The food and drinks were well prepared and plentiful. Fine dinning restaurant was superb. The staff were amazing along with the guides and drivers all very friendly and helpful. Never had to race for a lounger or a place by the pool, which was also amazing! Great for kids and families. I would definitely recommend this place !

Our group of six are experienced Cuba travelers and were very pleased with our stay at this iconic hotel. Management are out and about and checking to see if everything is good with you. You will get professional friendly service in the dining room , front desk and in the lobby bar. A very large pool is kept immaculate and has many loungers and shade areas around it. At the lovely beach a warm Caribbean sea offers great swimming and on the beach itself you can walk many kilometers. This Soviet built hotel is being beautifully refurbished and the current rooms in use are bright and well-kept by the maids. Helpful Holasun and Cubatour people can help you arrange side trips to Cienfuegos and Laboca and get you a guide if you wish one to tour Trinidad city with. Try a meal at Secreto in Trinidad...the large ornamental ear at the entry will ensure you have the right place, and it has an interior of antiques and collections you will love to see. There is a super masseuse at the hotel and you can get facials there as well. Yes, there are shortages, and you might run out of something for a day or two.You will not go hungry and there is a good variety of nicely presented food. At this price point you will get a great holiday in the nicest area of Cuba. Even the coach ride from the airport is informative and gives you insight into how Cubans really live. For myself I would use the Santa Clara airport even if it is a slightly longer trip. Both of my forays out of Cienfuegos with Sunwing involve multiple delays going home.

Just came back from our 7 nights staying at Club amigo ancon,  Best of the Best I loved everything about the resort except the entertainment was limited, Service, cleaning, food, drinks and the people happy to serve you with a big smile unfortunately it's an Underrated resort as per the review years back!!  We were 6 people (friends and family) and had a great time. Customer service was great as all staff were super happy to serve us. Cleanliness was paramount as it never stopped throughout the day. Food is relatively good compared to other resorts that we visited lately. There is always something there to eat. Drinks great all the time. Elcarte Resturant was the hilight with Best Fish served. Beach was so nice and sandy Internet was available and FREE at the lobby only; however, the signal was so strong Entertainment was limited to a couple of nights only. Maybe because they didn't have many tourists around. Location was very good as it was close to the Trinidad city where you can spend a day over and we enjoyed the Disco at the cave at night after 1/2 salsa lessons There is a bus to the city running from 9 am to 6 pm every day. Excursion to the mountains/falls was super very nice.

Entertainment was limited to a couple of nights only. Maybe because they didn't have a many tourists around. Location was very good as it was close to the Trinidad city where you can spend a day over. There is a bus to the city running from 9 am to 6 pm every day. Excursion to the mountains was super very nice.

Hi On the beach, clean, cheap, attentive staff, area full of life, activities, no mold in the bathroom, newly renovated, dream view towards the ocean. FREE ACTIVITIES! FOOD A BIT REPETITIVE BUT: meat of at least two courses at every meal, eggs at every meal, salads of 3 to 5 courses all the time. Whether you bribe them or not, they are all very careful! The only minus: the safe in the room does not work, but I have not heard anyone complaining about theft or problems. We made a team of 10 Canadians on the spot who had a great time (in total, we've all seen at least 40 resorts in the Caribbean and I haven't seen a resort closer to the ocean than this one).

I had low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised! Recently refurbished and main building still being discretely worked on. Beautiful grounds, spectacular beach and wonderful friendly staff. Food was decent. If you need ketchup, mustard or the likes bring it. Bed was new and comfortable but no working safe in room. I was worried at first but had no issue.
