Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Triadelphia - Wheeling

Showed up minutes after I made my reservation on the app, but the girl at the desk was already waiting on me & called me by name upon walking in the door (nice touch, unbelievable customer service!) The building itself is pretty average for a budget motel, but it's not overly run down like others have suggested. Could it use some updates & miscellaneous repairs? Of course! No property that sees the volume of people through its doors this place does would be capable of keeping up. But the crew here clearly tries. Not only would I stay here again, but I'd be a fool to choose any of the other local choices knowing this place has a fresh & hot breakfast with real protein choices, too! If you don't understand how big of a deal this is, be thankful. To top it all off, my service dog was welcomed warmly & I wasn't given any grief about her like occasionally happens. Thanks to the entire staff for knowing the laws and making us both feel welcomed. We will be back
Fairfield Inn & Suites Wheeling at the Highlands

The hotel is a normal Fairfield, tucked back on a developing road with lots of restaurants to choose from. We stayed there last year and went back this year on a cross-country trip. To my surprise, they changed the breakfast and no one in our party could find a thing to eat. Instead of bacon/sausage and scrambled eggs, they had some weird egg dishes with jalepenos (who eats those for breakfast unless you're in the Southwest?) and nothing else hot unless you eat eggs. They did away with the waffle machine which the kids loved. They also did away with ALL bread -- and only had some sugary oatmeal and maybe sugary cereal. Absolutely no fruit or anything healthy at all. When I asked, the girl at the front desk said it was a new Marriott food menu and she had been getting a lot of complaints. Well... the next night we stayed at another Fairfield and guess what? Scrambled eggs, bacon, bagels, English muffins, two huge bowls of fruit (cantelope and honeydew). So either the girl was making this up or the franchise owners decided to cut costs way back at the expense of customers. Bring back a decent breakfast please. That's why we stay there!
Hampton Inn & Suites Wheeling-The Highlands

This Hampton Inn is in a good area with lots of shopping, gas stations and restaurants. We were there on a Thursday in March, and the restaurants were busy early. We tried 3 different places between 5:30pm-6:00pm, and the wait was an hour or more. We gave up and got fast food. Check in at the hotel was efficient but not overly friendly. They were just getting the job done. I am not a fan of elevators so the stairway it was - which was extremely warm for some reason. It was a little too perfumy everywhere – in the halls and the rooms. The rooms are fairly spacious with all the usual accoutrements. The beds were comfy and looked nice, although part of the bottom sheet wasn’t tucked in on one of the beds. The shower was a bit dated and had some mold in the corners. We had a good night’s sleep as it was quiet – no road noise, people talking or loud TVs. The WiFi was pretty good overall. The hotel has a nice, modern dining area. The complimentary breakfast had many options, and the staff did a great job keeping things filled. We did, unfortunately, encounter many stink bugs which I presume are a seasonal occurrence. We would stay again if passing through the area.
