Hotels Near Kasert & Kanya Garden in Trat

Arriving at 101 Hotel was not a problem. The lady who greeted us on arrival was friendly. Spoke enough English to understand each other. However, the passport is requested for a copy, we did not do this because Dutch people are strictly prohibited from having their passport copied. Make sure you always have your own copy with your BSN shielded. The rooms are very basic and the bathroom looks very neat. No wardrobe or anything else present. Just a rack. Room had no view, there was a tree almost tight against the window. Very strange. They offer ”airport service”. Which is normally free, otherwise it shouldn't be called a service. Apparently it was in mini letters on their website that you had to be paid for it. Upon inquiry, it turned out to cost 500ThB per person, but it was a shared minibus with 6 to 8 people. Outrageously expensive. Go to the daily market, there are many SongTaews and they will take you safely to the airport for 400ThB per Songtaew. Of course we gave the driver a big tip. All in all disappointing experience.

We walked with our backpacks from the bus station (800-1000m), easy to reach. The hotel has a big Tesco close to it (which u will appreciate if using Trat just as stopover to reach the remotes islands:), a hospital, atm/restaurants and is about 5min to the “downtown” with foodmarket etc. it is on a side road so very silent, with nice views. Staff super polite, english speaking and when not, always ready with a google translator:) big bright rooms, spotless, comfortable beds, great internet, hot water, balcony, tv, a corner with free coffee/bread always available. They also sell tickets for ferries and reduced ticket to reach the pier, if booking with them. We booked 2rooms at cca 14€ each and it was definitel worth it, I recommend and would stay for sure again.

The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and parking is also convenient. The price is not expensive 👍

The hotel is on the main road that is not exploding. Surrounded by trees and rubber plantations, you can feel the fresh air in the morning. The rooms are well integrated, complete equipment as needed. The shower, the bathroom, the water is strong, the bathroom and shelves are designed to be easy and convenient to use, not uncomfortable, the breakfast is good, the quality is excellent, give a full rating of 10.

The accommodation is very big, there are many zones, and there is also a cafe. Breakfast is the best, many, many. Skip the delicious fish tree The room is on the water, sit and watch the mangrove forest and watch the fish. And can also go out to see the sea as well Anyone who visits Trat, I recommend Ban Pu Resort. You won't be disappointed. Very good.

Was a little shock that I was alone in this property but let me tell you this… it’s SAFE and CLEAN! No hesitation in booking this place! I will be back again for sure!!! Love my pool room. I hope I will still get a room next time after I leave my review here 😜 And, I visited a newest and chic cafe in Trat called Half A Hund. I booked a 7-day yoga retreat at Koh Chang Spa in March 2024, and it was an incredible experience. The accommodation was stunningly beautiful, offering a perfect environment to relax and unwind. Also the food was delicious. The morning yoga classes with Kailash were held in a larger group setting, and I really enjoyed them. Kailash is exceptionally knowledgeable about yoga, and his teaching style is both engaging and accessible. In the afternoons, I had private workshops with Kailash, which I highly recommend. He tailored our sessions to my specific yoga level and personal goals, dedicating a lot of time and attention to my practice. By the end of the week, I felt remarkably strong, both mentally and physically. Kailash’s expertise and dedication made me feel incredibly comfortable and supported throughout the retreat. I would absolutely book this retreat again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is incredibly beautiful - beautiful nature, convenience and comfort, privacy. To fully experience the atmosphere, it is best to take a large Deluxe room with a panoramic floor-to-ceiling window and a balcony. The views of the mountains and river are stunning, especially at sunset. We lived here for 12 days and didn’t want to leave, and of course, we definitely want to come back. - Food - the most beautiful breakfasts of my life, when the transparent waves of the morning surf almost touch your table. And of course very tasty! There are scrambled eggs and an omelet, several types of muesli and cereal, two types of bread, pancakes, yogurt, watermelon, papaya, pineapples, two meat dishes with vegetables (usually chicken and pork, sometimes beef), a potato dish, two types of rice, noodles, hot bacon and sausage, cold cheese and sausage, two types of soup, fresh vegetables - cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, lettuce, olives. And of course delicious coffee from the machine! There is also a happy hour from 16 to 18, when you can buy two cocktails for the price of one and enjoy the sunset. Dinners are also very tasty (the price is high, as on the whole island by the sea, if you want half the price, there are plenty of places on the side of the road) - The area is very large and, in comparison with the rest of the island, very well-groomed, especially in the beach area with the villas. They transport you along it and to the store using hotel cars without any problems, you don’t have to wait much, but it’s better to take a bike and ride around the entire island yourself. - The Deluxe room is very beautiful and stylish, the furniture is quite new, but in some places it has already been damaged by sloppy people. Huge bathroom, very comfortable. The bed is soft and comfortable. - Cleaning and change of towels every day. Change the bed every few days. The bed linen smells very nice. - Water - 2 bottles of 0.5 liters per room. This is not enough for the daily consumption rate and you need to buy your own water. But since the hotel transports you to the store, this is not a problem. - The Internet is rather weak for work and often cuts out. For relaxation - not needed at all. Here you want to enjoy nature and the sea. - Beaches - there are several within walking distance. Their depth depends on the tide; it is better to look at the tide chart. And beauty depends on the direction of the wind. In the calm there is very beautiful and clean water on all nearby beaches. But the most beautiful beach is Long Beach in the eastern part of the island; from the hotel it takes about 1 hour to get there by bike. And it’s better in the morning; there are practically no people there until 10 am.

The location is a very short ride from the ferry port. We had a deluxe double room with a balcony and it was beautiful. Lovely, comfortable bed, ample storage, tv, fridge, black out blinds, lovely bathroom. Aircon and ceiling fan. Balcony had a clother airer and also furniture to sit out and watch the beautiful sunsets. There were 2 pools we could use, one smaller which never had anyone else in it and huge one that was owned by another next-door resort, but we never used that. You don't need to when you have such a beautiful beach and clear sea in front of you. The hotel supplies sun loungers on the lawn area and deckchairs on the beach. The staff are super friendly and often brought out free drinks and snacks in the afternoons. It's a very personal service. We had breakfast included and sometimes had lunch and dinner, all of which were good. The hotel supplies free kayaks and paddleboards, though one of the guests told us this. That's one thing the hotel staff could do a little better - provide information about the facilities on offer and also about the island, trips etc. As the hotel is a little way from the main tourist areas of Koh Chang (White Sands Beach etc), you have to take taxis which are very expensive, or we ended up hiring a scooter which was so much cheaper, but then you have to have your wits about you. It's an extremely hilly journey west out of the hotel to get to the more tourist areas and not for the faint hearted. The hotel helped us arrange the scooter hire. Koh Chang itself is beautiful. We visited lovely beaches (e.g. White Sands and Lonely), saw monkeys and elephants and people are incredibly friendly. I also went snorkeling to the National Park, which was just incredible. I've been fortunate enough to go to the Maldives a few times, but have never seen coral as alive and beautiful as I saw off Koh Chang. Definitely return.
