Hotel Trilago

I love lakes and mountains and as part of our holiday in Italy I booked a 2 night stay at Hotel Trilago for our family. It was great. The hotel is the only hotel on Lake Cavazzo. It is surrounded by steep green mountains and the lake is an impossible blue - very pretty. It is easy to reach by car on the excellent roads (including toll roads) taking you north of Trieste, towards the border with Austria. Just the last few miles were on winding mountain roads. We arrived on a weekend in late July, it was sunny and there were lots of day trippers. The public car parking outside the hotel was really busy. The hotel has its own car park, just next to the hotel. It also has secure storage here for bikes. There are a lot of cyclists in the area. Hotel Trilago is really close to the lakeside. It has some rooms looking over the lake at the front and some rooms looking over the pool and mountains at the back. Across the parking area outside the hotel there is a grassy, tree covered area and then the beach. The lake shore is a little stony, the water is cold. There were lots of people swimming, picnicking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. There is a snack bar that sells drinks and has tables and chairs on the grass opposite the hotel. The small campsite next door has a snack bar on the lakeside which also does drinks and here you can rent kayaks and SUPs. We rented a double kayak for an hour for 14 euro. Our room in the hotel was not very big but had enough room. The air con was ok: it worked enough. The bathroom was decent. The bed was firm and comfortable. We had a balcony which was spacious, looking over the pool. The hotel breakfast was an extra 10 euro per head on top of the room rate, which was an ok price to get a bite and a coffee in the morning, but the breakfast was mediocre: poor quality bread, poor range of fruit, poor coffee, but decent eggs, some ham and cheese. The hotel pool was really nice. The restaurant attached to the hotel was nice, too. It doesn’t serve typical local dishes, but nice pasta, some meat and fish dishes.

A small but functional hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a walk-in shower and a huge terrace. The swimming pool was superb. The breakfast buffet was simple but fresh. Dinner was ok with some interesting menu items. The highlight is the lake in front of the hotel which is breathtaking.

This Hotel is so beautiful, clean and new! The staff are friendly, helpful, accommodating, and the location is a paradise! The lake is the most stunning blue/green! Early Sat morning the lake was bustling with Adventure seekers, wind surfing and mountain climbing! The wild life- ducks and birds made the stay so peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend a stay at this hotel!

Great for relaxing with dogs!

Wonderful hotel in superb location! This hotel is in a jewel of a location: beside a lake and surrounded by mountains. The staff was lovely both in hotel and the restaurant where we ate delicious dinners and breakfasts. The room was spacious, with a balcony and everything was well made. We would recommend this hotel and would love to return!
