For dessert, there was also soft serve ice cream, which the kids were happy with. After deciding to stay at Kinosaki Onsen, I was torn between choosing a small ryokan, but in the end I think it was a good value for money.

It seems to be the oldest inn in Kinosaki, and it was wonderful with a very atmospheric interior. All meals were served in the room, and the room attendant was very cute, polite and warm. The room was clean, but there was dust between the air conditioners or the building was old, so it smelled a bit peculiar. The Infinity Outdoor Onsen overlooking the Sea of Japan has been featured on Japanese TV several times. Excellent at sunset! Dinner was served in private sectioned rooms but with a public, almost festival-like atmosphere. Beautiful arrangements, lovely choice of flavors and very creative dishes. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Sadly, no elevators. Will look forward to visiting again!
