After getting off the JR bus, it takes ten to twenty minutes to walk, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. The hotel has a lot of rooms and the owner is very nice. Lovely place. There are very few places (if any) open during winter here. So I recommend you bring your own food or drive to nearby towns. The hotel was lovely. Quiet, so had the onsen to myself. Traditional room, spacious and with air con. Highly recommend.
