Broken aircon on the hottest days of the year. Lack of basic amenities in the room and get charged 5 euros to borrow a kettle. Cleaners that ignore the do not disturb sign and come in when I am half dressed or on calls and don’t leave straight away. And the rest…

Loved being in a historic building and the location was excellent. Walkable from train station and to everything you need. No elevator if that matters to you. I needed the stairs to work off the croissants!

Close to everything, lots of character, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Tub only. Very clean, we enjoyed our stay. Bike storage available €5 per bike, across the street from the hotel in a locked garage.

Great location in a really charming old building. Loved it, will definitely stay here next time in Tours. The building is amazing, with beautiful ceiling beams and old stone works. The place is looked after very well, everything feels fresh and perfectly clean. And the owner is really friendly and helpful. And speaks great English which was very useful for us with our poor attempts at French 😁

The history and the age of the building were very interesting. Honore Balzac studied in the building as a child.
Francois was very convivial. Would stay here again
Location is excellent! So close to the restaurants and waterfront.

We were very surprised to know that Balzac had spent his first years of retirement in this hotel.
He had lived in this building and climbed these stairs...
Small, very old building, without elevator, but charming, clean, quiet and very, very well located in the city center.

Absolutely avoid. In addition to being very unpleasant and impolite, the manager wanted to make me pay fees amounting to around fifteen euros because my train had arrived late in Tours (at 9 p.m., not at 2 a.m.). However, these “late arrival” fees are neither specified on the site nor at the entrance to the hotel. This gentleman didn't even bother to call me during the day to warn me even though ********** had sent him my contact details. I was going to sleep there several times over the next few days for work but I won't set foot there again. To flee.
