Hello, A conference brought us to Tours. We thought that in these gloomy weather conditions, a ray of sunshine in a "riad" would be a comfort after a busy day. Despite the rather high price, we chose this establishment. But how disappointed we were! 1- The hammam is an additional charge for accommodation: 30 euros for half an hour per person is a bit expensive (most hotels with swimming pools and spas offer these facilities free of charge to their guests). 2- Furthermore, the hammam closes at 7 p.m. For those of us who thought we could relax after a busy day of conferences, it was a complete miss! 3- We asked if we could eat in the evening? The answer was no! So the tagine dish on the website is false advertising? 4- Eating breakfast in the morning was also not possible. The restaurant opens at 9 a.m.! 5- I see that many guests were satisfied with the welcome. It's impossible to judge, because apart from the young lady who greeted us upon our arrival, we didn't meet anyone. It was impossible to enjoy the lounge, which I admit is quite welcoming. At 6 p.m., no lights, a ghost hotel!!!!! 6- I smiled slightly when the young lady showed us the room on the first day. She showed us a kettle with a few tea bags and told us, "The establishment offers tea-making facilities." I should point out, however, that any establishment these days offers this minimum service. To impress the guest, they offer flowers, a bottle of wine or champagne, etc. 7- This establishment claims to be "high-end," with towels and sheets embroidered with the establishment's logo, a very welcoming room, etc., but there is no service. For me, the quality of an establishment is the level of these services. I regret our stay at Portes de l’Orient, because for the same price we could have had a room in the 4-star Grand Hôtel in Tours.

I spent a late evening with my partner, at the gates of the Orient with a nice welcome. We privatized the jacuzzi, and slept in the Majorelle suite. The decoration is really nice, the only downside is the mattress... which is very uncomfortable... we slept very badly. Too bad

Je me suis sauvé à l´aube. SPA ( LOL) j ai rien vu...

I went to spend last weekend with my mom for her birthday. I received text messages in the morning to know the exact time I would arrive, it was complicated to tell them the time given that I live far from Tours, but I was under pressure to arrive absolutely before 4:00 p.m. because the message services were scheduled at that time and the person was coming only for us. Okay, in principle I understand, so I asked if we could postpone the service to 4:30 p.m. and there, I was told that it was not possible to postpone. However, in the salon I saw the masseuse, she did not seem to be in a hurry, I am sure that I could have arrived at 4:30 p.m. without this pressure. When we arrived, the welcome was courteous but not warmer than that. The establishment is rather clean, but aging, it would deserve some refreshing work, in fact the faucet of my shower was broken, the curtains of the room torn and dirty in places, the small decorative tagine on the bedside table broken, and the plastic decorative flowers I find it a little cheap for a place that calls itself "luxury" Foufa's massage was very pleasant, it was a good time, I recommend. For dinner, the briks leaves were reheated and not cooked to order, which made them soft, the couscous was served while we were only at the entrance, but we had the feeling that we had to finish quickly because the people still present in the establishment wanted to leave, we were then left alone in the establishment, if I had not asked the question of whether we were actually going to be left alone, no one would have warned us. I also found that they were in a hurry to clear our table, basically I found that there was pressure on everything, I was not relaxed, there was no music during the meal, quite a strange and uncomfortable atmosphere. The breakfast brunch is not worth it, a lot of leftovers which in my opinion were reheated. Industrial orange juice, and miniature plastic jam. An establishment that would benefit from serving something more refined, we can see that there is no effort made on the meals. To conclude, I would say that it is much too expensive for what it is, that the managers should be trained in welcoming and caring for customers, and above all, special attention should be paid to the meals.

A 5-minute walk from our home, we set off on a journey. As soon as we opened the door, several perfectly decorated rooms followed one after the other. We were immediately immersed: stucco walls, moldings, chiseled lanterns, olive trees, scents of mint... We reached our Pamukale suite, magnificent and pure, with a bathtub for two, perfect after the jacuzzi. An exceptional welcome, warmth, generosity, and the taste of an olive tagine. From our trip to our doorstep, we will keep a unique memory. A thousand thanks to the entire Portes de l'Orient team for this haven. We warmly recommend this exceptional place. Sandra and Frédéric
