The location is great for Totnes main street and staff friendly but £100 a night is over priced, no breakfast or car parking included either. The parking meter outside is for an hour only in the day. The rooms are directly above the pub so you can hear the bar music clearly. But the music does stop promptly at 11pm. No double glazing ( to be fair the pub is probably listed so can't have it) means you can hear everything including the rain falling from a broken gutter outside the window, so it's noisy. Take ear plugs. The room is tired and needs a refresh as does the shower which keeps falling off its 'arm'. Totnes however is well worth a visit. And the staff are lovely.

Room was cosy and good size. However we didn’t have a great nights sleep as every hour or so a noisy fan or boiler kicked in somewhere near which woke us up. Windows quite thin too so noisy from outside. Good facilities, room had a few areas which needed cleaning (big stain on wall, very dusty bathroom extractor fan) but good location and absolutely lovely staff, just shame we didn’t manage to get a good sleep.

We were welcomed by Jake who was extremely helpful and swiftly checked us in. Had a great meal, burger and the fish platter- both huge portions and v tasty. Great room, comfy bed, good bathroom, towels changed even though we were only there 36 hours. Staff did everything the could and were v informative re taxis etc- would def stay again if ever down that way.

I love the location, right in the heart if the city.Access to shops and food great. Only thing for me was it was a bit noisy as my room was just above the pub.

We booked a night because we were going to a gig in Totnes. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. When we got to our room we were pleased that we had plenty of supplies of tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate etc . Room was clean and tidy but wouldn't want to spend more than a night there as it was quite compact

Spoilt for choice with the menu as always. Something for everyone on the menu. Hubby chose burger and I had lamb shank... both excellent. Could not fault anything. Staff were amazing as always.. looking forward to our next visit already. A really popular place to eat, some nights with live music too.

As a visitor, I must admit the location for this accomodation is perfect. Right smack in the middle with shops and restaurants all around. Room was of a decent size as well, but comparing with a wetherspoon property we stayed in Bridport just a night ago... theres more to improve here. Parking can be a hassle but if u know where to park and how to walk there, then it's just a 5min walk (with abit if a slope). However it's hard to give this a 5 stars, due to the poor toilet system that's so hard to flush and the water heater isn't the most ideal as well. I am an easy and heavy sleeper but do take note that it can be really noisy at night (esp during Tie Quiz night) and early morning as well. After all, we are only 1 level above the bar.

Everything was fine. I think that the room had been freshly decorated. Good electric shower. Comfortable bed. A few toiletries some of which we did not use. WiFi was not very strong.
