Price-Quality ok

Oh dear. Oh dear. I've been coming to this hotel for many years. This year it is full of Spanish pensioners. They have paid a minimal amount. The food is very poor. Rotten fruit. Only meat on offer two nights ago were chicken wings. Looks like there's been an explosion in restaurant with tables not been cleared. Worst breakfast I've ever seen with fried eggs piled on top of one another. Spanish pensioners rushing about knocking into us. They're handling fruit and then putting it back. All entertainment is in Spanish. Head waiter said we shouldn't have been booked in here at this time. The food would have been better if Spanish pensioners weren't here. Smell of sewerage in lift and corridors. Been in touch with TUI many times and they have done absolutely nothing. To put top hat on it my husband has been ill in bed for 2 days. Doctor says it is some sort of bacteria and most likely Ecoli. Avoid.

This hotel is not up to 4 star standard. Restaurant is in basement with low ceilings all enclosed and no outlook Food is very basic on buffet repetitive and lukewarm. Entertainment was just a dj putting on Spanish dance music so loud it was unbearable . If you get room in their hotel opposite there's no reception and you have to cross road to get to it. Small pool area not suitable if busy in summer months not enough space for everyone. It's quite near beach.

Lovely relaxing stay but definitely not a 4*. I’ll start with the positives. The location was excellent and only a short walk to the beautiful old town. We were blown away by the beauty on our doorstep! The hotel itself is immaculate and would definitely deserve at least a 4* for the cleanliness. Room was spotless & cleaned everyday with fresh towels. But very basic, with no extras like you’d expect in a 4* (no toiletries/kettle/mirror to get ready etc). Food wasn’t great at all, we aren’t fussy eaters either but I was skipping meals in the end. Such a small selection and often cold and quite stale. Maybe it was because it was end of season? I’ve been so ill with gastroenteritis since been back, convinced it was the food :(! The quality of meat was so poor. Far from 4* food. Barely even 3*. The best thing was the fresh fruit & deserts! The pool situation isn’t ideal but we made it work, the main pool is in the shade until like 2pm. But there is another small pool you can use. Nobody else was using it so me and my husband had it to ourselves for the week which was nice but the sunbeds were uncomfortable (hard plastic). Can’t imagine how it would work at peak time? Not many loungers and both pool areas very small. We did have a lovely relaxing cheap and cheerful week in the sun and made the best of everything as we always do. If you’re looking for a nice clean hotel to sleep in to explore Tossa De Mar would defo recommend. But if you like to laze by the pool and eat lavish food I would defo not recommend. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for a family with children either as there wouldn’t be anything for them to do.

From arrival to departure the standards never faltered. My room was large and airy and spotlessly clean. The friendly cleaner came every day and changed towels and toiletries replenished. I didn’t see a speck of dust throughout my stay. The food was really good. From breakfast to dinner there was an amazing array of different foods to eat. From pizza to squid. My grandchildren loved the croissants and chocolate sauce, and the beautiful fruit selection at breakfast. Lots of fresh pineapple, melon and watermelon and either plums, peaches, apples, nectarines and bananas available at every meal. Lunch and dinner always had a great selection of salads and 2/3 choices of main meal. Like roast chicken breast, pork escalopes, steak, salmon (and other fish options), stew, and there was always a veg or two options with rice and either chips or wedges. And lunch and dinner desserts included the aforementioned fruit options plus cake, jelly, mousse and ice cream. My only let down was there was no coffee available at lunch or dinner and you had to move upstairs to the bar to order coffee. We were very lucky that we had the swimming pool almost to ourselves but the placement of the pool means it only gets the sunshine for a couple of hours every day although you can use the smaller pool in the sister hotel opposite. The water in the pool was quite cold although that didn’t deter my grandchildren from enjoying themselves. The hotel is a lovely quiet place to stay and the town is also very quiet. No lary drunk people. No noisy night clubs. It’s not the resort if you want a very lively nightclub scene. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend Hotel Tossa Beach to everyone

I have rated this location two star. It is actually advertised as four star. Who gave them that rating must have been to a different location. Our visit started on the wrong foot when I inadvertently booked one room for four people! Not two rooms. Imagine our horror. However, the reception staff were brilliant and after a short while another room was found. We had to pay another £350 euro’s but we were hostages of the situation so paid up. I am so glad when we got to the room that four of us would have shared it was so tiny, we would have been sleeping in shifts! The room was small and basic and certainly not have four-star standard. The mattresses were like egg boxes and the pillows were wafer thin. Our balcony over looked the pool so we had the radio on from the bar all the time until gone 11. That wasn’t a problem for us but might be for someone who wants to retire earlier. In the wardrobe we had eight hangers for two of us and three shelves, there were no drawers in the room so storage was limited for clothes. There was mould on the roof near the door and the bath screen leaked when the shower was used. Fortunately we were able to stuff a towel to seal it, other obviously hadn’t found this way as the bathroom door was rotting from the floor upwards. The room was kept clean and tidy by the maids who did a very good job. The bar? What four-star hotel discriminates between guests? We were on the all-inclusive package so all our drinks were served in plastic glasses. We asked for glass but were told that glasses for people who paid for their drinks! INCREDIBLE! What four-star hotel serves cocktails in plastic glasses that are more appropriate to a primary school dinner hall. I had a blue lagoon made differently on three occasions. The bar itself lacked atmosphere and I can only describe its layout as being very similar to a prison visitors room or an exam hall especially when the Animation girl was pacing the floor like an invigilator, what else did she do we saw no evidence of any activities. Food at the hotel was basic, on their website the management state that show cooking was new for 2023! What a joke at breakfast this consisted of how not to fry eggs and at dinner it was how to overcook cheap cuts of meat. It’s a sign of how bad the food was that all four of our party commented that thew highlight of the week was tinned peas cooked with ham! Then there was the service from the waiting staff OR should I say lack of service. What four-star hotel has their customers clear their own tables? Have you been to one where you have to take your plates to a trolley, scrape them and then put them in a stack on the trolley. I have never had to do that. Drinks at meal times were served to the back of the room despite sitting next to the bar the guy serving would not serve one of us four glasses of wine for our table, again it was a joke. Supervision of the food was poor and one young man was seen several times eating from the displays

We stayed at the beginning of September and we had a fantastic stay. Close to shops, beach, bus station. Great service from very helpful and very friendly staff. Room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed even a big balcony with the best view of the pool. Plenty of food to choose from and I am a fussy eater. Would highly recommend the hotel to anyone.
