Aluasun Lago Rojo - Adults Recommended

This was our first time in Torremolinos and to this hotel. All we had to go on were other reviews which were mixed. However, our experience at this hotel was excellent. The hotel is a couple of streets in from the beach so there are no sea view rooms. The rear gate of the hotel takes you straight out into street filled with bars and restaurants. Torremolinos to the left (town centre walk around 20 minutes) and Benalmadena to the right. So this hotel is very central. We had a pool view room on the 4th floor with a standard balcony which was a great sun trap. On arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that the safe in the room comes at an extra cost and the key is provided by reception. The safe is small so fine for small items but not for tablets or laptops. One other useful point to note is that the hotel can provide ironing facilities. There is a note about this in the wardrobe but we only found it on the last day. During our visit the entertainment area on the ground floor was being painted. This is always a good sign when the fabric of a hotel is being maintained. Our room was kept spotless during our visit and the beds were very comfortable. We only had bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive. Eggs can be cooked fresh to order. We will certainly stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is well situated near to the shops etc. The room we had 132 was a superior. Nice big room but not a nice view just a bit of garden where apparently guests with their pet dogs they let use as a toilet. Food was OK but if you want a superb curry go to Indian ocean on the prom absolutely the best curry we have had .. staff in the hotel ? Some are nice some not so friendly you get the impression they like Dutch people better. The roof top terrace with sunbeds is lovely but you need to up before it opens at 9.30am if you want a bed. Be aware they cater for hen and stag groups so not always quite at night which is a shame because of this we would not book again at this hotel

Significantly better than we expected, large room and evening meal quality and variety. Reception staff quick to react with problem in our room, 1 hour all done and dusted. Can not fault the staff , hotel or facilities.

Lovely hotel near to all transport links. food good Close to sea and shop lovely level walk Room clean and spacious will defo be booking again only minor grip didn’t like fruit juices

We had a fantastic holiday here at the Aluasun Lago Rojo. Everyone was lovely and friendly. We only booked b+b as we wanted to explore the bars and restaurants in this area. The breakfast menu was delicious plenty of choices. The super king size bed was the comfiest bed I’ve slept in so peaceful. We also particularly loved sunroof for sunbathing and chilling. This hotel is in a perfect location a minute to the bars and restaurants out the back entry. The area of Carihuela has some lovely bars and restaurants especially Winston’s sports bar and Carabello bar.

Lovley hotel great location minute ftom see front lovley roof top bar nice reception staff we found the breakfast offering excellent other meal times not has good .The bars needed a couple more staff at busier times but maybe thats just a reflectiom of the times

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Great service, great food, welcoming staff, amazing location. On top of everything it is great value

We have just returned from a week’s holiday at the Aluasun Logo Rojo. The hotel is very nice indeed. I’ll get the only negative out of the way first, on arrival the receptionist was not in the least welcoming. Our room was not ready but we only became aware of this when she offered us the key to the luggage store, with no indication of when to return. I realise the hotel information gives a check-in time, but when booking a package I assume the room will be ready. However, once we came back and were allocated our room the holiday began. The room was spacious and exactly as advertised with a sitting area, sleeping area, bathroom and balcony. There was a safe (additional cost) kettle and fridge, plenty of clothes storage. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was a good size but a wee bit dated, and a slight annoyance was the bathroom door hit the sink unit every time it was opened. We were on a B&B basis. The breakfast options were very good and we both found something to eat each day. The rooftop pool area was really lovely with a pool and hot tub area, as well as a reasonably priced bar. My main suggestion would be increasing the number of sun loungers. We were always lucky enough to get a couple but often they were the last 2. The staff were friendly and welcoming after our initial interaction. The entertainment was ok, but we didn’t see it every night. All in all we had a really great time at this hotel.

For 5 days of our holiday in April 2024, the main Agua Bar was closed due to major repairs/renovations being carried out, no guests or reps were given advance warning of this. Our room was two floors above the works, & the noise was excruciating. We could not relax in our room or on the balcony, & had to pay for sunbeds on the beach for some peace & quiet. While the Agua Bar was closed, guests were told to use the rooftop bar instead, unfortunately the weather was way too cold & windy to spend any time up there. On our arrival, there were quite a few black hairs on the bathroom floor, I expected them to be cleaned away when the cleaners came the next day, but they were still there, they weren’t cleaned away until I mentioned it to reception. That said, the hotel is in a good location, the bar/restaurant staff are fantastic, & always willing to help. The food is slightly above average, but usually too cold, thankfully there is a microwave in the dining room.
