Livermead Cliff Hotel

From our very first meeting with Kerry, we could tell that the Livermead Cliff hotel was on another level to all of the other hotels we had considered on our wedding planning journey. The hotel ticked every box for us – not only is it an excellent location with such stunning views of Torquay (perfect for wedding photography!), but also the function room is a fantastic size and very modern. This altogether allowed a perfect amount of flexibility for our big Greek wedding of around 180 guests. Charles, Kerry, Anthony, head chef Darius and all members of staff at the hotel worked so hard from start to finish. Charles and Kerry answered all of the questions we had along the way and also helped provide us a bespoke wedding menu of Greek food which chef Darius honestly got down to t! The wine provided was also so lovely – you can tell Anthony has great taste and only provides the best quality. The hotel worked so well with all companies involved in the organising of our wedding, and our photos speak for themselves, showing just how stunning the function room looked and how well the room was set up to accommodate all our guests, as well as our eccentric entertainment and high energy Greek dancing. Charles is just such a personable guy and remembering back to how he waited for us at the front of the hotel with our glasses of prosecco on our arrival is such a lovely memory to have and showed us how much care he had put into our wedding. We knew that we were in safe hands with Charles and Kerry – the success of our day speaks volumes about their expertise in organising large events. Even months on family and friends haven’t stopped telling us how amazing the venue was, how much they all loved the food and overall just how well that it was organised. Livermead Cliff, we can’t thank you enough for giving us the most amazing and unforgettable wedding day!

We had a wonderful weekend here as a Church conference. Apart from the fact that you are on the sea with heavenly views, the hotel is warm and comfortable, and we were well looked after in their conference room below. The staff could not have been more helpful and efficient, and the food was simply phenomenal. Although we had a lot of choice, and waiters came to take our orders, the food was delivered fast and efficiently. I had fish for all three main meals - red mullet, hake and seabass - and it was perfectly cooked and really delicious. Starters and desserts were equally delectable; this dining-room is as good as any top restaurant. I hope we'll be there again next year! A lovely place to be at a cold grey time of year.

Came to stay for a line dancing weekend. The food was great and the service was amazing. My single room could do with a bit of a upgrade, but it did the job. Lovely bar area where we could relax during the day. The function room downstairs was great with a good size dancefloor. Only issue was there was nowhere safe to store bags after we checked out.

Been to this twice this year once in summer and at new year last 3 years we couldn't fault anything at all room fine food excellent and entertainment overall 10 out for ten staff always very attentive and lovely Anthony and Kerry looked after us nothing was too much trouble looking forward to new year 2025

Booked for 2 nights, family of 11, 6 rooms, all with seaview, all warm neat and very comfortable. Breakfast each day was the best, 4 course evening meals excellent in the lovely restaurant. Staff lovely and friendly. Lounge has panoramic seaviews and a comprehensive bar, with a bar menu and coffee & biscuits availability. Will definitely be going again.

We have been visiting this hotel since 2020 and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Torquay. In fact this was our 3rd visit this year! The food is excellent - plenty of choice on the bar menu and loads to choose from at breakfast, both hot and cold. The staff are friendly and helpful - a special mention for the lady on reception on Tuesday, who was so helpful in booking our July 2025 break. Yes we are booked to return not only in July but January as well! The rooms are always clean and tea, coffee etc is replenished every day. We always book a sea view and have stayed in various rooms during our visits, all of which we have found quiet and peaceful. The hotel is a little out of the centre but a bus runs along the front if walking us a problem.
