Property Description
Maple Grove Cottage | A Poetic Haven in Toronto’s Downtown Arts District |
Nestled between the sky-piercing CN Tower, the shimmering reflections of Lake Ontario, and the Gothic spires of Casa Loma, Maple Grove Cottage ignites Toronto’s West End with a splash of maple-red charm. Here, the neon nocturne of Queen Street harmonizes with the culinary symphony of Ossington Avenue, creating a vibrant stage for urban explorers. This is both a front-row seat to the city’s pulse and a poetic waystation transcending time.
Choose a private room for solo wanderers to savor the city’s silhouette or a spacious suite for families and groups to bask in the legend of lakeside lights weaving an endless night. In the open kitchen, maple syrup and Tim Hortons coffee await, ready for you to craft a morning prelude with fresh produce from Ontario’s farmers’ markets. A 24-hour laundry room, with the warm hum of dryers, smooths out the creases of your journey.
A 3-minute stroll leads to North America’s vibrant creative hub—the Ossington Arts Corridor, where avant-garde gallery installations dance with street murals, and the aroma of indie coffee roasters guides you to the improvisational riffs of underground jazz bars. Within a 15-minute walk, the Victorian elegance of Trinity Bellwoods, the sparkling ripples of Lake Ontario, and the azure mysteries of Ripley’s Aquarium unfold in sequence, while your poetic haven quietly blooms amid this urban tapestry. For a deeper dive into the city’s heartbeat, a 10-minute streetcar ride whisks you to St. Lawrence Market or Ripley’s Aquarium. Meanwhile, Maple Grove’s complimentary parking stands ready for your romantic road trip to Niagara Falls. As night falls, a 3-minute walk plunges you into North America’s culinary theater: the lingering flavors of Ossington’s Michelin-starred private dinners blend with the vermouth ripples of Queen Street’s speakeasy bars.
From Lake Ontario-inspired wall art to curated bath essentials, every detail whispers Canadian hospitality. At dawn, lean against the window and watch streetcars ferry stories from around the globe with their melodic clatter. Maple Grove Cottage is not just a key to unlocking Toronto—it’s a gentle embrace that softens the moonlight of foreign skies. May it become the warmest bookmark in your global travelogue.

This place was pretty decent for one of those Chinese-style guesthouses. It's a good location if you're doing stuff in the west end. I'm not really into the no-front-desk model, but the automated entry worked fine and the place was clean.

We had a great stay at this place – everything was comfortable and well thought out. The location is very convenient, just about 20 minutes from Union Station by TTC. The nearest stop, Queen St West at Dovercourt Rd, is only a short walk away, making it easy to get around the city. There’s a Shoppers Drug Mart just two minutes away on foot, which was open until 10 PM – very useful for picking up daily necessities. The kitchen was clean and fully functional, so we were able to cook without any problems. In fact, the photo attached shows us cooking rice during our stay. Plenty of towels were provided, which was really thoughtful. We also appreciated having a separate laundry room – it was clean, easy to use, and made our stay even more comfortable. The garbage bins are located in the yard, so it was easy to take out trash whenever we were heading out. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, and you don’t hear the noise from downtown at all. The host was also extremely responsive and helpful whenever we had a question. Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

I won’t recommend for couples or families. There is no AC and have to share washrooms/ bathroom and kitchen self service. Price expensive compared to room’s facility. I mean over all. I will say 3/10

I was quite impressed with the hotel. It was difficult to find but we sorted that out thanks to trip.com and Jason my contact person at the hotel. Although it was a shared bathroom kitchen, it was very manageable. There was only one other family sharing and they were lovely. I would recommend highly. Linda Morel

You won’t beat the price, especially for the location. But it is a very modest room in a shared home with multiple tenants. As such, privacy is limited, and most of the accommodations were shared. There was no control over the thermostat, so the room got hot at night. But overall it was fine, and we loved the location, which was close to great shops and restaurants.

Before boarding, I was informed that the flight to New York was cancelled, so I had to find a hotel to stay in. This hotel can be considered a homestay, located in a quiet neighborhood. The owner prepared the room very carefully, and also provided fruits. He took the initiative to contact me to inform me of the check-in arrangements, and also asked for my opinions and suggestions. Very thoughtful. It is about 4 kilometers away from downtown Toronto and Toronto Island Airport.
