お部屋は今回は清潔。綺麗なお部屋でした。広々としていてツインにしてよかったです。ただ、予約時に予約サイト上では「一部禁煙」または喫煙というお部屋ばかりで禁煙部屋を希望できなかったのが残念です。結果的には直接、電話して禁煙部屋に変更していただくことができたのでよかったですが、完全禁煙部屋をたくさん用意してほしいと感じました。喫煙部屋ならもっと安い値段で利用できたのにと思うと不公平感を感じます。朝食はビュッフェ形式でとてもおいしたったので満足しています。スタッフさんの対応も親切でした。

Large modern hotel within walking distance of the station and town centre. Private car park ¥500 per night. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with good amenities. Nice yukatas provided to go to the hotel’s onsen-style bath area which was really nice. Buffet breakfast was included in the rate. Easy to reserve in *********** as the hotel’s own website was a bit difficult. This is probably the best quality hotel in Tono and is reasonably priced given the current weak yen though maybe a bit expensive by Japanese standards. Overall very good and I would stay again next time.

遠野にじっくり滞在するツアーで4泊しました。部屋は上層階の広めのツインルームで内装も新しく快適に滞在できました。デスクにはホテルメイドのパウンドケーキと新米のプレゼントがありました。地元の上閉伊酒造赤色酵母を使ったケーキはほのかにお酒の香りがしてとても美味しかったです。バスルームも新しくてきれいでしたが、3階に大浴場があるので使用しませんでした。部屋からは南部神社と鍋倉城址が望めましたが、紅葉の時期だったのできれいでした。廊下を挟んだ反対側だと遠野の町が一望できます。朝食は1階の「いちょう」というレストランでビュッフェスタイルでした。近所の豆腐店の出来立ての豆腐が食べられたり、地産の料理も多いです。岩泉の濃厚なヨーグルトも嬉しいデザートです。夕食は2階の宴会場で懐石料理をいただきましたが、こちらも遠野の料理がメインで美味しかったです。滞在中はホテルのスタッフの方2名がコンシェルジュのような対応をしていただけていろいろ助かりました。このホテルは近隣のとおの物語の館や遠野城下町資料館も同じ系列なので、最終日に資料館を見せていただくことが出来ました。この資料館単独ではチケットを買うことが出来ないというちょっと面倒なシステムでした。毎晩開催される語り部のお話も良かったです。遠野の駅からは少し離れていますが、遠野で滞在するにはお勧めのホテルです。

天皇陛下が訪問された遠野随一のホテルの割には正直期待したほどではありませんでした。意図的に細かなケチをつけるつもりはありませんが、以下の点をご検討ください。
１．スタッフは丁寧だけどマニュアル通りで融通が利かない感じ。3時前のチェックインはそっけなく断られてしまいました。
２．ホテル内のレストランの食事は二日前までに予約しなければダメと言われたが、事前には知らされていなかった
３．自前の駐車場があるのに一日500円と有料なのは他のホテルでは経験したことがなかった
４．バスのスイッチが扉の左側にあり、ドアを開けるとスイッチを付けられない。これは基本的な設計ミスだと思います。常時点灯しておけというならエコに反するのでは。
５．大浴場に櫛が置いていない。頭を洗ったら軽く髪を整えたいのが普通では（タオルに加えて櫛まで持参せよということでしょうか）
６．部屋の目覚まし時計が狂っていて、自分では調節できない仕組みのようだ、などなど

ベッドのマットレスのへたり具合、タオルのふわふわ感の無さには、毎回ガッカリします。施設全体としては、立派、清潔、プライバシーが守られている感があるだけに残念です。夕食も3000円以上するミニ会席しかなく予約も必要なので、車に乗って街道筋まで行けないと、1000円台で食事代を収めるのには、ほとんど選択肢がありません。
