Nice place to stay. Friendly staff, luxury rooms... and with a restaurant that is in a class of its own. We enjoyed a 5 course with wine menu. It was so well laid out. And then the breakfast is in a special class.

What an amazing find. Nestled in the quiet main street of Mogel Tønder is this wonderful restaurant. We selected the three course menu with wine and had the most wonderful meal. Cured hake followed by veal tenderloin and sweet woodruff panna cotta. Wines from around Europe and food from Denmark. Excellent service, great descriptions of the dishes and good surroundings. Will definitely come back again.

Our visit to Schackenborg Slotskro was truly a unique experience, including a wonderful lunch, a walk through the beautiful Møgeltønder main street with all it’s heritage-listed house and the Church, a tour of Schackenburg Castle by a delightful and knowledgeable tour guide, a delicious dinner, and an overnight stay in a cozy heritage cottage that belongs to the inn. The next morning we made a quick trip to the historic town of Højer nearby, which completed the fantastic experience.

Went their with my parents. We got lovely rooms, decorated very nicely with Molton Brown Shampoo etc. Our 3 course dinner was delicious and the service very attentive. The Schackenborg snacks were perfect. The entire place is very peaceful and perfect for romantic getaway.

Single room is very nice (I believe I stayed at Løvenborg room) and clean. Bathroom is a bit small and could use a shelf, so you have somewhere to put your stuff. The bathroom amenities were great. The bed was comfy and I slept well, but I do believe that was only because I remembered to bring earplugs. I think the hotel should offer that as well. The house is old and you can hear if the guests across the hall clear their throats. The inn offers coffee/tea in-room, and I really appreciate that. It would be nice, if there was a tiny table in the room, so you didn't have to stand by the dresser to drink your coffee. Breakfast was adequate. Located in a small town on a picturesque cobblestone street. It's worth a walk. Also, there is no tv. I missed that.

The inn is placed on what is probable the most picturesque street in all of Denmark. It’s is absolutely beautiful. The inn itself is beautifully restored and the room we got - a first floor suite - was very nice and looked brand new. The restaurant is really, really good. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff, who do need special mention, are courteous, knowledgeable and it’s evident that they love what they do. We got really good advice on wine and our waiter remembered our preferences for water, wine etc. after the first night. Really good! All in all a highly recommendable place both for a stay and for great food and wine.

Nice little hotel near the castle, at the beginning of the "old" village street. Large parking lot nearby. In this village you feel like you're in another century. The reception was very nice! We stayed in the main building (on the top floor near reception). Great new wooden floor. Very clean. In addition to a second room, there is also a very large common room. Very quiet at night. Breakfast buffet was unloving and you weren't even greeted by the staff, or the greeting wasn't returned. We had dinner in the hotel. Be sure to book in advance. There are three or five course menus. It's not suitable for vegetarians. We wanted a small change to the 5 course menu. We had to ask the kitchen first if that was possible. "Yes, but only if everyone at the table does that and has the same thing." We did it. Unfortunately, the course we didn't want came anyway. They kindly took it anyway. It took a long time (second course came after 1.5 hours). Other tables that came earlier got their courses earlier and quicker. We don't know what the problem was. Three waiters for 11 tables and a set menu shouldn't be a problem. To be honest, we were expecting a little treat after the two big mistakes in the service. Nothing came. Checking out was quick and not particularly friendly. The iPhone headphones still in our ears didn't seem very professional to us. We're not entirely happy. The service still has potential for improvement.
