We (family of 4, children aged 14 and 11) stayed for 2 nights. We arrived late at night and the drive up to the hotel was certainly an experience, but was definitely worth it when we saw the view in the morning. The setting in the mountains is spectacular, and we loved spending time in and around the pool, taking in the view. The restaurant is good with a varied menu, although perhaps there could have been a few more options for breakfast. ******* allowed us to book a room which was not available, so we did not get the tower room as we had hoped. However the hotel were apologetic and did their best to mitigate this, offering us a second room so that our family of 4 had plenty of space. We would recommend Hotel Cerro de Hijar for a spectacular location to get away from it all!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very rustic and rural... I dont think when we booked it we really appreciated the fact it was literally on top of a mountain... the road up to the hotel was very interesting !!! The staff were friendly, the rooms basic but clean and comfortable and the pool good with views to die for. The local area is very spanish (lovely!) and there is lots to do if you like Hiking, running, caving, canyoning etc The only bad side we experienced was that on our first night the food in the restaurant took over 2 hours to reach our table... this would not bother me if I didnt have 3 hungry kids... but i did, and so this was not really acceptable.

This hotel is one of my favourites. Stunning views, stupendous food and fantastic staff. It’s a 3 star hotel giving a 5 star experience. We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed every moment .

Lovely location and comfortable rooms. The restaurant was in disarray and one of the waitresses had a very unusual attitude, almost as if the guests were an inconvenience. We will go back and try the restaurant again, assuming that our first experience was not typical.

Second time and we will be back. The hotel is not perfect but the friendly and super helpful staff, the unique location, comfortable beds, above average food and casual atmosphere made our stay a true delight.

I rented 5 rooms at this hotel for our group. Getting to the hotel takes you up a winding mountain road. The first time makes you wonder what you will actually find. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It has an old Spanish mansion feel. We checked into our rooms and had lunch at the hotel. The meal was pricy and took a while to be prepared, but it was well worth it. The rooms were very clean and had air conditioning. If you can select a room, the views from room 16 were incredible. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Quaint hotel with a spectacular location overlooking Tolox. Makes a welcome change from the nearby coastal resorts. If you get the time the sauna and hot tub are a very relaxing way of spending an hour or two. Food was good and staff very friendly

Wonderful old style Spanish hotel high in the mountains of the Sierra de los Nieves national Park,above the village of Tolox. Beautiful views, friendly staff, great service and excellent food from their chef. Excellent position for many walks in the maintains and valleys with large waterfalls.
