I am a member of Hotel Mets and like Mets Gotanda and stay well. Shinkiba is the first time. It is just off Shinkiba station, but it is not connected to the station, so if it is raining, you need an umbrella. The first floor is the convenience store and elevator entrance, the reception is upstairs. The reception is small compared to other Mets. Free coffee, amenities bar is the same. I go to the room by elevator with a card key. I asked for a room with a good view on the upper floor with a pre request. It was a room where you could see the night view of the city center such as Tokyo Tower on the top floor and the west and see the plane to Haneda. A bench type window? The hotel was convenient for commute through bus (Bus with #s 10 and 16 stop right outside the hotel) and then train - this we later on learned after a number of trial and error. We initially did train only and walked more going to the stations. It’s also across a mall (they have good food also) which is already mentioned a couple of times (connected through a walkway) and beside it is a good size 711. The only thing is the room that we had was on the small side. We couldn’t fully open our luggages because we will literally walked on them. For the duration of our stay, we had breakfast there. It was the same everyday which we didn’t mind because the selection was good and everything was yummy. The pillows are too thin for my liking but negligible for me. The bed and linens are of good quality. Therefore, the experience was still pleasant.

We arrived in the second week of April and were worried that we weren't in time to catch the annual sakura season since blooming started earlier this year. Was pleasantly surprised that the hotel gave us a room that was facing two blooming sakura trees right outside our room's balcony. Absolutely wonderful to wake up to the view of the sakura flowers and playful chirping birds against the clear azure blue skies. Besides that wonderful morning moment described above, here are the main reasons we chose this hotel: 1. LOCATION, TRANSPORTATION: It is near Tokyo Disney Resort at Maihama, Tokyo. Just one railway stop away but it was about half the price of our (Ambassador's) hotel at Tokyo Disney Resort. Transportation-wise, we just hopped onto the affordable hourly bus from Narita Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort, then took a 5-minute cab ride to this hotel. Easy. 2. KANSAI-RINKAI PARK: ”Rinkai” literally means seaside in Japanese. It's true that this hotel felt a little ”secluded” especially since we arrived at night, when there was almost nobody at the park. But early in the morning, we saw numerous families and elderly people streaming out of the Kansai-Rinkai Park subway station to admire the last week of sakura blooms that were still available at this seaside park, before proceeding to stroll along the beach. The wonderful Tokyo Marine Life Park and the Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel are also in this park. 3. RESTAURANT: The hotel's restaurant served up a pretty decent buffet breakfast in the mornings, and a simple range of Japanese, Western and Chinese food for lunch and dinner. Their most expensive item is the sumptuous Japanese bento at 5500jpy and the average price of other items were around 2000yen (~15usd). 4. ONSEN, VENDING MACHINES: An indoor onsen is available for guests to relax at the end of the day. There were also plenty of vending machines selling cup noodles, snacks and drinks on the same floor. Convenient for those who felt hungry after a relaxing soak in the onsen, even after midnight. 5. ROOMS: Our room was very spacious and value-for-money by Tokyo's standards, with two beds, a sofa bed and plenty of space for the kids to run around. They also have Japanese-style rooms where you get to enjoy the ”ryokan” experience of sleeping in a futon (thick and warm Japanese sleeping bags) on their tatami mats. One of the most underrated hotels near Tokyo Disney. You'll love it if you love nature.

We loved the hotel while we stayed. Room was small but larger than a typical Japanese standard and should not be a problem for a couple. All the space of the room was efficiently utilized. Room had a fridge and a hot pot. There are many electrical outlets, for example, at the bedsides. Window blind was impressive so that it was completely dark when we put on the blind. Free wifi was very fast and we did not have any problem with the network. An ice machine as well as a microwave was available on the second floor. Lobby was small. Amenities were to be picked up from the lobby. Staff was all very kind with a good command of English. Nishi-kasai Tokyo metro station was a stone's throw from the hotel. There is Y's Mart around the corner. Aeon (a much bigger market) is 10 minutes away if one walks. A few minor issues are obviously Tokyo downtown is somewhat far, about 40 minutes by metro. They did not provide water bottles, which we did not mind because of the reasonable price. All in all, we enjoyed the stay and would come back if we have a chance to visit.
