This is a traditional onsen hotel with excellent service. The staff were polite and attentive; when we checked in, they even cleaned the wheels of our suitcases since all the floors are tatami, which was a thoughtful touch. The onsen itself was exceptional, and we enjoyed it thoroughly—it was the highlight of our stay.
The breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of high-quality, delicious options to choose from. Another highlight was the location, right next to 清水寺, and our room had a lovely view of the temple, which was especially beautiful at night.
The only downside was that the entrance to the 別館 was not easy to find and could be easily confused with 本館, as they are located next to each other. Clearer signage or instructions would be helpful.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay with great service, amazing onsen, and an unbeatable location.

The location is perfect because once you get out of the hotel-everything is there-restaurants, Uniqlo, 24hrs Don Quijote and Sensoji Temple to name a few. The amenities are readily available and no imposed limit:). The breakfast is good even if not a lot and the menu is always the same with one dish being changed daily. The location is close to everything esp the Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa Station. Will stay here again.

High quality hotel with large rooms (18m2) next to Senso-ji with many amenities. Convenient to go everywhere by subways. We suggest to get Tokyo subway day pass (24, 48 or 72 hours). Nice free afternoon tea time you can have coffee, team and snacks and see Senso-ji and Tokyo Skytree fro Cafe windows. Excellent breakfast too. But the hotel entrance is a bit odd -- see photo

Good location - close to Sensoji Temple, Donki, and shopping street. Asakusa Station is also about 300 meters away. The staff are mostly foreign and speak English. We appreciated the spacious bed, seamless check-out process, early check-in for hotel members (you'll need to sign up), and the complimentary coffee and bread for breakfast. There's also a view of Tokyo Skytree from our window. Ma-kun, one of the staff, also played the piano for us which was nice.
Now, for the cons - the air conditioning fan did not work properly which affected my husband's sleep quality. There was also no bathtub in the room. Overall, it's good for budget travelers if you can book early since it's cheaper that way. We booked 3 months beforehand and didn't get the best rates. Not bad, just not the best. Thank you. 🙏

This facility is the best for this price!! However, I was on the upper floor of the bunk bed, but the upper floor was empty and bright, so I couldn't sleep very well. I recommend booking a lower floor.

Nice hotel, with adequate space to open up my luggage for a solo traveller (might be a bit small for 2 people). Friendly staff and really liked the room and hotel design! The toilet was a bit small but not much of a problem. Window from my room didn’t offer much of a view but not a big problem either. Hotel breakfast was yummy and value for money! Only downside is that it’s a bit far from stations, so will need to walk quite a distance.

Inexpensive and basic older feeling hotel. It’s not as long a walk as you might think to get to the shopping and Temple area. But nothing really around the immediate couple of blocks.

It is a consensus that Tokyo is expensive, so I think it is a good deal to get such a hotel next to Sensoji Temple for 400.
The hotel is in Asakusa Kuramae, close to Kuramae Station on the Oedo Line, but if you take the Ginza Line to Asakusa Station, it is about 5-600 meters away. It is not far. Get up early and walk north along Kuramae Street to Sensoji Temple.
The hotel room is really small, but it is quite thoughtful to set up a desk in such a small space, which is very convenient for me to handle affairs. The room is very clean, and the shower in the bathroom is also hot. I fell asleep quickly after taking a shower and lying down. I rested well.
In particular, this room rate also includes breakfast. In a capitalist society where everything costs money, it saves me some money, so that I can have an extra meal for lunch and dinner, which is really great.
By the way, you can pick up your pajamas at the front desk for free. The washing and drying machine is in front of the elevator on the first floor. This costs money - coin-operated.

GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!
JJoyceLocation is great -5 mins walk from station. Rooms are decent size for Jap standard and hotel is modern and classy, doesn’t feel dated. No need to join the breakfast at hotel as lots of options nearby. 7/11 attached and Starbucks and cafes and shops within 2 mins walking distance. Sawamura ( turn right at Starbucks) has yummy bread and pastries and there is a line queuing up for lunch every day before 11.
GGuest UserExcellent hotel and special mention to Justyna
Location: Prime spot in the heart of Shinjuku and one minute walk to Shinjuku station exit 4, and less than five minutes to other exits.
Room: Extremely clean, modern, spacious, fantastic housekeeping.
Facilities: Washing machine, dryer, hot/cold water dispenser.
Service: Top notch hospitality from staff who are very friendly and courteous – special mention to Justyna who was extremely helpful with my queries days leading up to my check-in, as well as throughout my 7-night stay, and she always ensures that my requests are fulfilled promptly. Thank you Justyna and team!
GGuest UserKeio hotel is located in Shinjuku. Their rooms are reasonably size and the staff are nice and helpful. There are many restaurants around the hotel, and Lawson convenience store is located opposite the hotel. It takes about 5-7 minutes to walk from the hotel to Shinjuku's JR Station.
SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.
MmingbooinThe location of the hotel was excellent. Exit 4 of Bakurocho Station was located right next to the entrance of the hotel and the exit led to all the other connecting train lines so it was extremely convenient to travel to all the popular locations. I went to Tokyo for a concert and it only took 25 minutes from Tokyo Dome back to the hotel. Highly recommend this place for anyone watching concerts at the Dome as well. Furthermore, the breakfast was a nice mix of Western and Japanese food and we found the breakfast sufficient to get us through the afternoon. There's free lockers and locks for luggage storage on the 1st floor so you don't need to go through the staff to lock your luggage. The laundry rooms located on the 4th and 8th floor were really cheap as well. Total was about 400Yen to wash and dry clothes. The only downside was that the rooms were slightly old and very small (but we expected it from Tokyo already so it wasn't an issue for us) so we had a hard time packing things into a 29inch luggage.
AAnonymous UserVery clean, spacious, the biggest room I got so far for single occupancy, able to open my suitcase n still got space to walk around comfortably. Very convenient just 7 mins walk to/from Ueno station or 4 mins to/from Okachimachi station. Kensei Skyliner to Narita airport just short walk from Ueno station. Good for last min shopping at Ameyoko Street (Uniqlo/GU, supermarket, Daiso, Donki, etc). Delicious & affordable Chirashi Don Sushi bowl (must have). They also catered free half portion ramen at night, yakult & ice sticks after Onsen (manga at the entertainment room). Definitely will stay again.
AAnonymous Useri booked the triple room as it was the only room left. there was space for only 1 large luggage - the room was a little old but bed and duvet surprisingly comfy. onsen was small so it got a little crowded as the hotel was full that night. location was great - tho the nearest ikebukuro stn exit with lift, C9 (vs 20b), is a little further from the station. excellent authentic chinese food nearby (豪妈 on google maps), and a family mart just across the street. great hotel!
GGuest UserI love the location it’s super convenient. Staff are super polite and smiley.
Service wise is not good too many strange rules firstly, there is no phone in the room. In case u need one it’s near the elevator on each floor to speak to the staff.
The twin bed are way too big for us 2/3 of the room. I can’t even open my suitcase easily.
Only one elevator in this 14 storeys hotel right next to their emergency stairways. There is a sign saying if you are in a rush please use the stairways but we were on the higher floor and it’s so cold February a few degrees Celsius ???? Well no thanks I shall wait patiently then……
No daily cleaning service we stayed 5 nights the hotel offered one time cleaning during our stay. All the dirty linens and garbage have to be placed outside your door by 10am if new towels needed. Strangely one bottle complimentary water was given to 2 guests daily together in a bag of towels and slippers toothbrush garbage bags. Only one washing machine ¥600 35mins, dryer ¥300 60mins available (cashless payment only) Onsen too small and poor facilities.
