Good location, nearby commercial and biz buildings, Tokyo station (which is accessible to multiple JR and metro lines) and Kobayashi Station (Ginza Line).
There are a number of good food outlets nearby, worth to walk around. Hotel Amenities are good except the room pillow (very grainy and hard). One pax only can select 1 pillow from their pillow selection near the reception, but not the regular “western” fluffy hotel pillow. Free drink and cocktail at lobby in the evening. Public bath available too! Coin Laundry available at 300yen and dryer is for free. They do segregate ladies and men level for public amenities. Thumbs up! But a guy came down to the ladies level to use the dryer (all the ladies were staring down at him, but he seems oblivious or pretend not to care).
It was raining during the period of my stay. The reception was able to loan out umbrella! Great service!
Room was small but sufficient for 1 pax. It’s Japan, I adapt. All in all, great place to stay in. Will definitely be back in the future!

The Excellent location, just next to Tokyo Station (Yaesu south, Nihonbashi Exit ).. few walks to Pokemon Tokyo station shop, Restaurants,shopping malls, ,Lawson Mini Marts, and SAGAWA EXPRESS TOKYO SERVICE CENTER (Delivery Luggages + Storage Luggages).. Many taxi, Bus to here... We chose here cos we just came back other city by JR. and we wanna go to Pokemon Cafe (Nihonbashi)..just take taxi 5 mins or walks 15 mins. Breakfast is really delicious, Great Quality of Food and service. even we got up late and we have only 10 mins before it is closed they still let us enjoy the breakfast with happiness. the Japanese Rice with soup is truly delicious.. Thx u all staffs for warmed service. and There is Exchange Money Machine in front of lobby with good rate..
Room is quite small but normal for tokyo . The comfy bed let me have good quality of sleep. refresh me up from long journey. 非常好睡。 早餐好味。 很方便。

Location was super which is walking distance to Tokyo station, exit from Tokyo Yaesu Central exit and go down the underpass and exit from exit 22 via stairs (take note we did not managed to locate any lift to floor level, u can walked via main street to avoid carrying your luggage to the underground to train station).
Hotel provided alot of amenities which include face mask etc, complimentary coffee and tea provided during non breakfast hour near receptionist.
Room was sizable as we are managed to open 2 luggage at the same time.

This hotel is great in location! Very walkable to Kanda station with many restaurants and mini stop convenience store just across the street. There are all the amenities you need available to pick up at lobby. The room is clean. There are lockers to use after you checkout for 24 hours. Worth the money!

The hotel location is very convenience. It's close to the metro station. It took me only 10mins to Ginza.
The room is clean yet small. The bathroom is small. That's why put lower point on facility. Other than that, everything is good and clean.
Comfortable to stay and convenient to travel.

Pros: The room is big enough and the luggage can be fully opened. The facilities are old but clean. It is close to the subway station. The surrounding facilities are good. Cons: It is not friendly to tourists with large luggage. There is no elevator at the entrance, so you can only pull it up by hand.

the room is very small and only fit one person. bathroom very small too. pretty clean however if you stay 2 nights they do not clean the 2nd day. they clean room only every other day. however they will give you clean towels and hang on your door.
the location is not central but hotel is a 5 min walk next to a metro station. there is also a Daiso next to metro which is great. most items are only 100 yen.
I gave the hotel 3 stars for service because I find some Japanese hotels have unusual early check out time (10:00am). they are also very inflexible and do not give out late outs without charging extra fee. 10:00 is an hour earlier than most hotels worldwide. in china for example checkout tine is usually 12:00 noon. and they usually can allow later check out time with no extra fee.
I hope Japanese hotels will give later check out times.

This hotel is very good option for those who don’t want to pay a lot of money for a good service, we were thrilled with the amenities offer by the hotel, the ONLY problem that I see was that there has no subway station near, so you have to walk more than 10 minutes to arrive, but the bus station is very good option too.

The room was just nice for 1 person and it has everything I need. I had a comfortable stay with them. The location was very convenient as it was in walking distance from a subway station. In addition, there was a bus stop outside the hotel which you can board to get to Tokyo station where I easily took the airport train to Narita Airport. This made my traveling easy, especially so when I am traveling with such a huge luggage bag.
I want to highlight that they paid a lot of attention to details. I came out from a hot water bath and when I saw the mirror, I was very surprised to see that there was an area of the mirror that was not covered with water vapour. The staff actually applied something on the mirror to prevent condensation. Such attention to details made my day! It was not necessary but they did it anyway.
Highly recommend this hotel, you will not regret it!

Well staff was very friendly and countertop workers easy to communicate. Location is overall good. You have to walk 5min to get into metro station and nearby there was lots of food choice. Have the bus stop right front and left side of your hotel. Best thing was it was so close to the city air terminal which goes direct buses to the airport. It only took me mostly 4 minutes get there. Since taxi is expensive it good choice. And it was clean. But please next time restock the amenities at least in 2 day such as toothbrush and toothpaste.

GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!

SspyeeewThe location is superb. 3 min walk to train station and bus terminal as well as to big department stores hands and Takashimaya. Due to high floor, the view is great! But the service is so so. Requested for extra blanket and couldn’t be acceded unlike Sunroute across the road, the extra blanket was placed on the bed before check. Service definitely needs to be improved

Location: Prime spot in the heart of Shinjuku and one minute walk to Shinjuku station exit 4, and less than five minutes to other exits.
Room: Extremely clean, modern, spacious, fantastic housekeeping.
Facilities: Washing machine, dryer, hot/cold water dispenser.
Service: Top notch hospitality from staff who are very friendly and courteous – special mention to Justyna who was extremely helpful with my queries days leading up to my check-in, as well as throughout my 7-night stay, and she always ensures that my requests are fulfilled promptly. MMommy MaricelPerfect location for Tokyo marathon runners. It is just by the starting line. Everything was great. Room super spacious and clean . We had a fantastic view of the Metropolitan Building with led lights show. Food so good in the buffet. Service is excellent.

SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.

Just a short walk from Ueno Station, it offers easy access to the JR Yamanote Line, the Keisei Skyliner (for Narita Airport), and multiple metro lines, making it an excellent choice for those who plan to explore different parts of Tokyo. Additionally, the Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko) Market is just around the corner, where you’ll find everything from fresh seafood and street food to clothing and souvenirs. It’s a lively area that adds to the appeal of staying in Ueno.
Room & Facilities – Compact but Functional
As expected, the rooms are small, which is pretty standard in Tokyo, but they are well-designed with everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the room included basic amenities like a TV, a small desk, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but for a short stay, it was manageable. The bathroom was also compact, though the onsen (public bath) on-site makes up for it.
Onsen – A Small but Relaxing Bath
One of the highlights of staying at Dormy Inn hotels is their public bath (onsen), and this location has one, albeit on the smaller side. It’s not the biggest or most luxurious onsen, but it’s a nice way to unwind after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The water temperature was just right, and while the space was limited, it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited.
Freebies & Unique Perks
Dormy Inn is known for offering small but unique perks to its guests. This location provides free popsicles and yogurt drinks, which is a nice touch. However, they are only available during specific hours, so if you’re out sightseeing all day, you might miss out on them. They also supposedly offer free late-night soba, a Dormy Inn signature, but I never actually saw it happen and didn’t feel like asking about it. Maybe I just missed the time window. Overall, Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo is a great choice if you’re looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and functional stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent, the onsen is a nice touch, and the small perks like free drinks and late-night snacks add to the experience. Just keep in mind that the rooms are small, there’s no daily cleaning, and some of the free amenities have limited availability. If you’re okay with that, it’s a great place to stay in Ueno!

GGuest UserSmall clean room as expected but having to get your own amenities and very little around the area makes it purely for accommodation purposes. Though there are 2 lines of trains that are very close by it’ll take about 25 minutes ride to get to major Tokyo hotspots like Shibuya. McDonald’s right down stairs and a convenient store all accessible completely undercover was perfect for some of the rainy weather I experienced during my stay
