Good location near tourist attraction : sensoji temple, a lot of restaurants, supermarket and mini marts. Easy to find food anytime. 8 mins Walking distance to Tsukuba express line. Friendly hotel staffs and got free breakfast. They will clean the room every 3 days, but they will change towels and throw garbage every day. Overall We are satisfied staying there.

We stayed here for 3 nights. And I must say it is one of the best hotels i have stayed at in Tokyo. During my first visit to Tokyo last 2024, we stayed in Hilton Tokyo. But on our second visit this May 2025 with my family, we chose to stay within Asakusa area. I have read a lot of good reviews of Asakusa Tobu Hotel, so we tried to book a room here for 3 nights. We arrived around 11am, the staff at the front desk told us that the check-in time is 2pm but since they have available rooms, he allowed us to check-in earlier without a fee. Wow!
The room is very clean, like newly built, water flow is great, amenities are complete. My son also enjoyed the bath tub. The CORNER TWIN ROOM A is big enough for our family of 3. We even stayed there for a whole day because we were very tired walking around tokyo the previous days so we rested for a whole day. And we had the best stay in Tokyo. The breakfast is also great. Ample food choices. They even let you take out the food if you are not able to dine in (if you are leaving early for a tour, you can ask them for take out boxes for breakfast and they will gladly provide you).
We will definitely book here again!

The service was incredibly warm and friendly. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient, keeping the rooms spotless. The location was fantastic, making it very easy to get around. You can conveniently walk to places like Kaminarimon and Kiyomizu-dera, and there are plenty of convenience stores nearby. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it!

The overall hotel environment was acceptable, but the room was incredibly dated. The decor looked like it hadn't been updated in at least 20 years. The most bizarre thing was they were using a bedspread as a duvet cover! I've never encountered anything like this anywhere in the world! How unhygienic and heavy must that be?
The soundproofing in the room was better than a previous stay in Osaka, so it was relatively quiet.
However, the attitude of *that* Black staff member from room service was not good. Our check-out time was 12 PM, but they started knocking to rush us out at 10:30 AM. I opened the door, and they just walked away without saying a word! If it had been a Westerner, they probably would have been all smiles and babbled some broken English, bowing and scraping! Unbelievable.
Our room was located above a graveyard. For those who understand, enough said.
Breakfast was pretty good. They offered fruits, salads, and all the usual items, and surprisingly, pickles and congee (rice porridge) – haha. We usually only eat two meals a day, so we made sure to fill up at breakfast before heading out for sightseeing. Other services were also satisfactory.
Check-out was self-service, and you could also self-store your luggage. For taxis, we used Didi, and they were quite spacious.
The hotel is considered quite good locally, with many foreign guests and local Japanese staying there. From the breakfast area on the 26th floor, you could get a view of the Tokyo Skytree.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, no-fuss place to stay in Tokyo, Hotel MyStays Ueno Iriyaguchi is a solid pick! Check-in and check-out were super smooth, and shoutout to one of the Indonesian staff members who was especially warm and helpful – really made us feel welcome.
Toiletries are free-flow at the counter, so just help yourself. There’s also a washing machine and dryer on-site, which was super handy – meant we could pack lighter and plan better.
What I loved most was the little in-room kitchenette – complete with an electric stove, cutlery, plates, bowls, pans, dish soap, and even a chopping board and knife! Just request what you need at the counter, and they’ll sort you out.
The room is on the smaller side if you’re comparing to hotels outside Japan, but totally normal by Japanese standards, and honestly, it was cozy and well-equipped.
Location-wise, it’s near plenty of convenience stores and even a 24-hour supermarket. Plus, the area is peaceful at night, not busy or noisy – perfect for a good rest after a day out.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a quiet, comfortable base in Tokyo. 👍

Emit Hotel Ueno: Convenient Location, Compact Comfort
Emit Hotel Ueno offers a convenient location for exploring Tokyo. It's located near Asakusa, which is easily accessible within a 20-minute walk or a quick 5-minute bus ride. Its proximity to a train station also makes it a great base for getting around the city.
The rooms are small, which is a common characteristic of hotels in Tokyo. However, despite the limited space, the rooms are comfortable.
If you prioritize a well-connected location with easy access to Asakusa and public transportation, and you're comfortable with smaller room sizes, Emit Hotel Ueno is a good option.

Fairly sized room with 3 single beds. I had a good rest at the hotel. Location is good as it is closed to the Keisei line to go to Narita airport. For who loves night life, it’s a great location. One thing can be improved is the number of coin laundry machines , very limited , only had 1 machine at certain level, which I had to wait until 3am to collect my laundry.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations in every possible way. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive to every detail. The check-in process was smooth and quick, and I was immediately impressed by the elegant and clean lobby.
The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the linens felt luxurious. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches such as complimentary bottled water, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked minibar. The bathroom was modern and included all the amenities I needed, including high-quality toiletries.
What really made my stay exceptional was the outstanding service. Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight — a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, including both Western and local dishes.
The hotel’s location was perfect — close to major attractions, yet peaceful and quiet at night.
Overall, I had a truly wonderful experience. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, service, and quality. Five stars!

The location of Coconie Hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's just a 230-meter walk from the Ueno-Hirokoji subway exit, with another Okachimachi exit also conveniently close. Situated right in a bustling commercial area, it's less than a 10-minute walk to Keisei Ueno Station, perfect for catching the Skyliner to the airport. Major attractions like Ueno Station, Ueno Park, Tokyo National Museum, National Museum of Nature and Science, and the National Museum of Western Art are all within a 10-15 minute walk, making it incredibly convenient.
Right next to the hotel, there's a shopping mall with an Onitsuka Tiger store that offers a full range of styles and sizes, and they even have Chinese-speaking staff.
The room wasn't very spacious, but it was perfectly adequate. My only minor complaint was that it felt a bit stuffy, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't figure out how to open the window.
Breakfast at the hotel is a set menu, served in the downstairs cafe. It typically includes a drink, a salad, and a toast-based item, with a choice of 6 different sets.
Overall, I give it a five-star recommendation. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Ueno.

Overall, the room was quite clean. However, wet clothes are not allowed to be hung in the room to dry; only items placed in the trash bin are collected by housekeeping. Fresh slippers weren't replenished for several days. Also, toiletries (like shampoo and body wash) and toothbrushes are not provided in the room and need to be requested at the front desk.
The hotel is quite close to Ueno Station, but it was a bit difficult to find. Ueno Station is quite a maze, and perhaps I'm just not very good with directions. I later discovered there's an elevator: at Ueno Station, look for the Hibiya Line, and head in that direction to take the direct elevator up to street level. Once you exit, walk a few steps forward until you spot a utility pole with some drawings on it, then turn left. Walk straight past the 7-Eleven, and you'll be there. It's also an easy walk from Ameyoko Market!

Amazing
EElisabhetaeWe were happy with everything! The perfect location for exploring Tokyo: 4 minutes from the metro, two metro lines nearby, which are very convenient. Norme is new and clean, we had room 201. The description says that it is a one-room number, but in fact it was 3 rooms! Norme is spacious and large! Everything is clean, a comfortable bathroom, in the toilet you can open the window and look out onto the street, we also liked that. The room is in a modern Japanese style, there is a tatami with a Japanese table for meals, we always had dinner on the tatami. The photos completely match the description! The perfect place!

HHau ManThe room was very spacious and comfortable. While it's a bit of a walk from Ueno Station, it's conveniently located near another station, making getting around very easy. The staff speaks Chinese, which made communication incredibly easy, and they were also very attentive and always willing to help whenever needed. I didn't take photos of the room, only videos, which unfortunately can't be uploaded here.

MMuji1754We stayed in bunk bed room. It was fun but very small. We’re like in train cabin haha. But we liked the hotel and onsen. Onsen needs some cleaning. The location of the hotel was good. We liked the most was the breakfast !!!! Walking distance to Asakusa temple. Of course we loved free drinks in the lobby. Overall we liked this hotel.

GGuest UserGreat, always stay here when visiting Tokyo. Close to a 7/11 as soon as you exit the building, a Lawson down another block, and a Family Mart 4-5 minutes walking towards Akihabara station.
Akihabara station is a great entry point to get around Tokyo, around a 10 minute walk to get there, and Ueno Park is also about a 10 minute walk.
Only complaint is that the bed is a bit stiff and you only get ONE pillow per bed, which is also a bit too firm for my liking.

LLC666Great location, 5 mins walk from Ueno station and 8 mins walk from Keisei Ueno station which is perfect for moving within the city and also to Narita Airport. Convenience store downstairs and you can get everything from Ueno walking streets which are just across the street. Room is spacious and much bigger than regular Tokyo hotels. Stunning views if you picked the rooms with view. Quiet inside room and you can get all the amenities from the check in area if needed. There is no smell of cigarette on non smoking floor.

HHeikkiKiviSpacious apartment. Needs more attention to details. No dishwashing soap etc. We had to buy some and start by washing other peoples dishes. Utensils for making food quite poor. No table and chairs where to eat. Checkin inn can be tricky. You need to read instructions carefully and still we had to try few times to get in. Location was superb for us. Would stay there again though, even there was some minor negatives. Learn how to use translator app for appliances, and youll be fine. You have to put water warmer on etc.

The location is very good. It is very convenient for transportation, eating and shopping. There is no elevator on the 4th floor, so you need to bear the weight of your luggage.

WWeezI ain't sure why a lot of people left a very bad comment regarding this property, the room size is quite big compared with JP standard (we got room at 6 floor with 2 beds (5ft size) for 2 person) the location is good (a walking distance to Kuramae station 200-350m (for Toei Asakura & Oedo line), surrounded with good restaurants such as Ramen, Tonkatsu (authentic one open since 1977), origin Japan (ready to eat JP meals & side dishes), etc. including a good Patisserie shops, a convenience stores (Lawson, Family mart, 7-11, local supermarket). Yes they have a rule regarding towels (1/ea/2 nights) & cleaning services (not on daily basis but if you want you can ask them to do), the guy at the receptionist may not always smile but if you asked something he's always respond & support, they have a common area (2nd floor) which there is kitchen, kitchen utensils, microwave, coffee machine, dining table, couches and air conditioning (and they are allowed us to use with free of charge) personally my friend & I would booked this hotel if we visit Tokyo next time.
