I immediately called trip.com customer service. They checked the child policy and they told me that I had specified 2 adults and 2 children when booking the room. They also explained that the child policy does not require an extra bed and there is no surcharge if they occupy the same bed as an adult. Trip.com checked it again. The agent negotiated with the hotel, but the hotel insisted on charging a surcharge, so OK Fine gave it to the hotel. But it made the last night of my trip to Japan unpleasant. When booking other hotels in Japan, I enter 2 large and 2 small early in the morning and pay according to the price on the booking screen. No hotel (of any star rating) has ever insisted on charging me a child fee, and they also asked me to charge both children. The hotel staff used Google Translate and said that as long as you are over 0 years old, you will be charged a surcharge, even if you are holding an infant in your arms. Parents traveling with children should think twice. Location: The location is ideal, close to Ueno Station, and it takes 7-8 minutes to walk to Hengshou Street. The hotel is in an inner street, surrounded by 2-3 star small hotels. facility: This apartment is more of an apartment than a hotel. There is no security guard. Anyone can go upstairs at any time. The elevator does not have security equipment to take a card to reach each floor. It is best to remember to lock the door. The "lobby" of the hotel is only 2-30 square feet, and there is not even a sofa or a stool for people to sit on. On the contrary, the lobby of the grandma-like old hotel next to it is said to have a sofa and a stool for people to sit on. The room has a washing machine, microwave, battery stove, cooking utensils and tableware. If you want to cook, you need to buy cooking oil and seasonings, but I only stayed for one night, so I didn't use these facilities. The pillow is so hard and solid, I don’t know what it is made of. clean: In fact, the interior of the room is very new and clean. The wooden floor may be different from ordinary carpet hotels, so as soon as you enter the room, you can easily see the hair around. The floors, toilets, and corridors are all hair left by previous generations. In addition, the room provides disposable slippers, but my slippers were often kicked under the bed. Only then did I discover that there were old slippers left by previous generations under the bed, which proved that there was no care in cleaning. In addition, the trash can is extremely thin, and the width of the trash can is only as wide as an iPhone phone. It is not easy to put the garbage in. Overall, it is not recommended for families with children. Even if there is an infant, there will be a surcharge. Or you can book a three-bed room for 2 adults and 1 child. If there are only 2 adults who need to do laundry and cooking and are not afraid of lack of security and sanitation, you can consider it.

The waiter was very polite when checking in. Although the service was wearing a mask, you could feel the smile. The room was very clean, but the kitchen utensils (pan-bottomed woks) had scratches and the white cups had coffee marks.

It was neat and clean, and the location was great, but the smell of the drain in the washroom was strong, so that was the only minus point.
