SAKE Bar Hotel ASAKUSA

I had high hopes for Sake Bar Hotel Asakusa based on its stylish website and positive reviews elsewhere, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to expectations. I paid more than average for a hotel in the Asakusa area thinking the boutique vibe and extras would be worth it, but I left feeling underwhelmed. The room was extremely dark with no natural light at all, which made it feel more like a basement than a relaxing space to stay in. I was on the 2nd floor and could hear noise from the lobby and lst floor throughout the night, including a communal washing machine that started running at 5am. Not exactly restful. The rooftop footbath area, which looked like a highlight in the photos, turned out to be small and a bit run- down. I also skipped the breakfast - the food looked tired and unappetising. On the plus side, the unlimited beer and sake was good - as promised - but that was honestly the highlight of the stay. The room was clean and bed comfortable. There was very little interaction with staff or other guests, and the place lacked any real atmosphere or energy you'd expect from a hotel marketing itself as a boutique experience. Overall, it felt like style over substance, and I wouldn't stay here again. I think there are better options in Asakusa at the same or lower price point most likely with more comfort, better service, and a stronger sense of hospitality.
